The new when we get paid rules from February.

Ebay was always heavily weighted in favour of the Buyers, but this new mad rule thats coming in next month about having to wait two days after delivery is confirmed to get paid is simply beyond the pale.

And sometimes delivery conformation never comes, apparently in that situation we have to wait 14 days to get our money.

This is disgusting and completely nuts. A self-destructive move from Ebay.

Just another though - imagine the effects on sellers when the buyer  -who sold an item to raise funds ( which is widely accepted as a reason for selling ebay tell us) - then buys an item, and tells the Seller they will have to wait up to 14 days for payment because ebay are holding their funds on this insane new change.

Why is it 'naughty' to look at other peoples accounts?   Why say you are going to end them, just do it and leave the site including the forum you obviously despise and you will be stress free!   Baseless threats mean nothing, people can look at your 'private' account as much as them want and as long as they are polite can say pretty much what they want, just as you are doing.

Have you had another look at the poster in question? This will confirm for you that self ended items don't show in completed listings.

Looking at other people's accounts often gives you a good idea whether or not to trust a poster.

It's amazing how many people post on here whining, and claiming they have removed all their listings, possibly not realising we can check and see that they are all still running. That affects the credibility of the poster, so you take everything they say with a pinch of salt.

We can also see those who have followed through, and gauge whether these sellers are really much of a loss to eBay. In most cases they are not.

There are also many posters who are operating on the wrong type of account. A few may be unaware of the distinctions between private and business accounts, so it's always helpful to point these out to them. (LOL)

Finally, we often need to see a particular transaction to address a poster's query.

I fully agree with all you say and I am just a 'nosy' person who likes to look before replying to posts and the one thing i have found is that the majority of those on here currently moaning are the very ones who should clearly be business sellers and not private.   I am a low price private seller and yes i am sure that some buyers will be affected by the BPF but i am just going with it, not reducing my prices either.   Same with the wait for money, not particularly happy about it but once again i am going with it.  So far, for me, it is working as they said it would.  One wait for 14 days and the other 6 paid 2 days after registered delivery.  I also find that they are the most rude and abusive types.

Except that you cannot know the presumed loss if the items that you're using to gauge other sellers have been removed from sale. And if you're making your judgment on the items they've successfully sold it's entirely possible that Ebay (and other buyers) will disagree with you.

Hello. Does know anyone  if sold any item beetwen £500-1000, getting available funds in 48 hours after delivery? For example posted an Iphone 15 pro max 512GB  sold for £650. Or Ebay keep back pay until 30 days  if you have'nt been yet sellings upper £500 value?  After released new payment rules  in Februar. Thank you

I honestly can't say, there should be folk here who have the experience though, so an answer should hopefully come soon.

They’re forcing us to do one of 3 things: pay extra for tracked delivery, pay for a business account, or just stop using eBay. Honestly can see a lot of people choosing option 3. This really is such a bad move on eBay’s part. Don’t know why they even bothered to cancel the selling fees because it doesn’t mean sh*t

now.

Without even looking at your listings, I would guess that option 2 is the one that would suit you best!

Before anyone comments, yes I am an official business seller and the new rules will not have any effect on myself (except if there are less buyers due to the new rules). I am not defending ebay as I feel that they should have introduced the new rules at the same time as they introduced the free to sell for private sellers (or better still left it as it was). These rules have a very negative impact on the genuine private sellers (especially low value items) - and I have no objection to them having no selling fees.

However, what I do object to (and you are certainly not the only one - @sunshinedior67 is another) is those that should definitely chose option 2, and as such have no right to complain about the new rules as it should not effect you.

If ebay as a different option had decided to make all those 1000s and 1000s of businesses (and yes an individual selling to make a profit is running a business) trading illegally on a private account to switch to a business account, I am sure that they would have made more revenue and wouldn't have the need to introduce these new rules.

I’m not quite ready for a business account just yet and weighing up pros and cons right now I don’t sell enough items to make the most out of it. Plus it’s £27 a month. I also don’t sell elsewhere (yet) either. I’d be cutting off my nose to spite my face if that makes sense!

Its nothing to do with if you are ready or how much you sell. You should be registered on a business account, which is actually free unless you subscribe to a shop.

In that case you should definitely choose option 3.

If a sale that expensive is unusual for your account, ebay *may* decided to hold on to the money for up to 30days(!) ....  just to make sure it all works out OK......

(I also have a feeling that 'tech" sales (phones, cameras, lap tops etc.) ring very specific small alarm bells at ebay and they have a much closer look at the sale than usual.)

Instead of taking from my response, which was genuine by the way, I obviously assumed I would need to pay the monthly fee of £27 for what I thought was an OPTIONAL business account. So I made a mistake. I’m human. I’m not apologising for it either.

I agree in principle i.e. fine for Tracked 48 which means a 4 day wait if all goes well after dispatch. What really annoys me is that I've got 4 items which I know have been delivered as have FB from them, but they are not marked delivered. I'm going to have to wait 2 weeks for payment as eBay has not yet linked Positive Feedback to their 'Delivered'. Will they ever I wonder?

I've always paid for tracked items & will always as it's proof of postage that's needed to claim if lost.

I wouldn't be a buisness seller on eBay even though I'd be financially better off paying a fee ( the fee that I didn't ask eBay to drop & felt was fair ) as I feel buyers look for private sellers with excellent feedback like myself rather than buisness sellers with apauling selling standards & feedback.

If I was to grow a buisness it wouldn't be on eBay purely due to their underhanded practices. It's not a badge of honour selling on eBay.
