The Omega Seamaster 176.007 Automatic Chronograph and Bracelet from 1972 is a vintage wristwatch des

Can I  obtain any suggestions on a value of this watch,  in a private sale using eBay in the UK.

The watch was bought in Vicenza  Italy in the Autumn of 1973.

After extensive research into the Omega Seamaster range, I can find no examples of this exact model, and configuration with a blue outer tachymeter ring and a black 12 hour clock face, therefore I am led to believe that this particular model was never sold in the United Kingdom.

Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi  @sirgordonrichards-2008

II can't help with value, but just checking, have you done a google image search? Have you looked at sold prices on Ebay for similar  watches? There is a jewellery and watches ebay forum where other sellers can be very helpful.

Have you thought about selling somewhere else. For private sellers selling things of this value it is akin to the wild west sometimes.

Have you tried contacting Omega directly for help? Often design houses have their own collections. If it is as rare as you say, they might want it for their archives!

Good Afternoon Sir Gordon

You have received excellent advice from the other two respondents however there is one other avenue open to you.

Contact a local bricks and mortar auction house, particularly one  who speciality in watches and jewellery and ask for a free valuation. This will involve either visiting them or sending photographs.

I've just googled it - Chrono24 seems a good place to begin.

Chat GPT 5 gave chapter and verse on this and arrived at an £1,800-£3,500 estimate.

It is an awful lot to paste here and contains a lot of links I’m not sure it will go down well with the mods if I provide them. It would be best if you ran that enquiry yourself with AI I think.

* apologies I missed a detail. It came back with £3,500-£4,500+ after I corrected it. I think it needs time left alone to do a deep dive and you should get a reliable answer.
