The text message on login with passcode has stopped functioning. Have to get the passcode via email instead. I haven't changed the cellphone number. Something is broken in the software.
ebay appears to be sabotaging itself and us on a regular basis. Please fix this so that buyers can log in and buy stuff. I know it's summer but ebay is dying.

Did what you suggested. Got a Phillipino guy who I could barely understand. Did everything he said. Achieved nothing.
SMS text to mobile phone isn't working.
Changed it over to sending a message to the landline and that works.
No longer using SMS text to mobile phone because that no longer works.

I mentioned that I'd changed to landline from cellphone. Landline works fine. Then I tried to switch back to cellphone. I've got an old cellphone and for good reason. I don't trust the new totally spied on smartphones. I can't do what they want me to do for new identity checks and nor do I want to in any case.
They are adding insult to injury by making us jump through unnecessary hoops when I've been using ebay from more than 2.5 decades.
Have already started transferring my lots to another site. ebay can do one! No longer have the will to list here.

I had this situation on both my business and private accounts. Endlessly going round in circles with both eBay and o2.
o2 insisted it wasn't an issue with them, but after nearly two weeks of arguing I got a decent tech support who reset something on my account, and 2FA SMS texts from eBay suddenly started re-arriving.
Now my annoyance is the endless login circle when I login using a Passkey, but the login page just loops back to the login page.

I stopped receiving texts about a week ago and had to switch to email.
I then found out in the ebay account settings you can connect your account with an authenticator app (I chose google's app from the play store). I like it because the 6 digit code is always in the app and routinely refreshes so you don't have to wait for it to be sent

Both accounts connected to an authenticator, both accounts have email accounts, both have 2FA, both have a mobile added for SMS.
On both accounts they will let me login, add items etc, get invoices - but if I click on Performance or Payments, both will demand that I login again, and about 50% of the time will loop after either entering the authenticator code or using the Passkey. The only cure is to completely delete the browser cache (Safari on one account, Firefox on the other) and then login, and go straight to the tab that I want to access.
If it wasn't for the stupid rules put in regarding selling to other countries and having your own ABN or IOSS code etc, I would build my own woocommerce store and forget about eBay/Etsy etc
