Simple delivery

Hi all. 22 year seller here. Simple delivery is a pain in the butt. But not mandatory. Just click on switch to advanced options. You have to do it 3 times! Then put in your preferred method. As another query about combining postage on more than one sale to same buyer, all you need do is get label for one item and any others simply mark as dispatched and provide that same tracking number for them. Yes the buyer protection fee is a profit making idea but remember seller commission?  Now sell for free. But the buyer pays that commission now that is all. Whether there actually is any insurance payout for lost items as it implies without taking away from the seller I don't know.

Sadly, this will not last. You obviously have not been moved fully onto Simple Delivery.

These options will disappear when you have been properly moved onto SD.

We were assured that every private seller would only have SD available for postage by 1st June. That was about the fourth deadline we have been given, and eBay has missed them all.

It maybe what you put as postage, but if sell something you are more than likely be switched to simple delivery after the sale!! That's what some are reporting has happened to them.

Yor are correct. We can't know anything for sure because ebay won't tell us, some sellers use SD but don't realise they don't have to and if the last CS i spoke to is to be believed a tranch of sellers were rolled over initially and cannot use custom delivery except in specific circumstances. He said there was no current deadline for changover as they had encountered many technical issues. He was in the US and seemed genuine.

I don't have to try 3 times for custom, but if i try to change the postage using edit it takes a few goes to get changed.

No, that is definitely not happening always. Nor do new or relisted, sell similar or high rate postage get forced on to SD. It seems copying another company is harder than they thought.

happened to me, managed to change to custom when listing, bid put on, still showing as custom until i received the sale e mail and noticed it had changed to SD!  So i cancelled the sale and e mailed the buyer and apologised explaining why i had done so.
