Simple Delivery and Buyer Protection Killing Sales.

eBay has just about killed off selling cheap low value postcards with their Buyer Protection Fee, but now to make things more even difficult when i try and list a military postcard in militaria they're only giving the Simple Delivery as an option, with no custom postage option to purchase Royal Mail 87p 2nd Class, unless I use a more generic category like photographs - although I'm sure they'll stop this soon as well.

So It now costs a buyer £4.47 to buy my 99p postcard, they get charged 76p Buyer Protection Fee (it's insured by the postal system anyway so why do they have to pay this)  and then £2.72 for simple Delivery, which gives a total of £4.47. All for me to make 99p and this is before I deduct the price of the envelope, protective sleeve and eBays PayPal fees of 33p

 This is an unsustainable model.

Simple Delivery and Buyer Protection Killing Sales.

Can't argue that its now cost prohibitive to sell low cost items.

But the Buyer Protection Fee isn't what you think it is (it is just a seller FVF replacement)
And also - no idea what the ebay PayPal fees are.
