EDIT: It should be eligible for Evri provided it weighs less than 20kg. Do you have Evri enabled?

"To send your items through the Simple Delivery programme, your packaged item will need to meet the following requirements:

  • Weighs up to 20kg
  • Dimensions:
    • For an EVRi parcel shop drop-off – no side exceeds 120cm in length, the volume is no more than 245cm. To calculate the volume, add together the two shortest sides and multiply it by two, and then add the length"

Although that isn't typically how volume is calculated...

I have Evri enabled, still no option. Even tried with just Evri.

Listed them in some other category and then an oversize option comes up.

Ebay just don't use or test their own product, it's becoming so user unfriendly.

The biggest thing you can send by RM is 61cm x 46cm x 46cm so your parcel is too big.

Evri's size limit is complicated.  You have to add the two shortest dimensions, double the resulting figure and add that to the longest dimension and the final answer must be less than 245.  In your case 50+50=100 100x2=200  200+50=250 so again over-size.

It doesn't help you and we can only hope that e-Bay soon allow us to use the firms that will take bigger items.

In the OP's case the two shortest dimensions are 50cm and 12cm:

((50 + 12) x 2) + 50 = 174 so their package is actually under the 245 volumetric limit as specified by Evri.

The OP's original post suggested there were no postage/shipping options available; not even custom ones. As I understand "Simple" Delivery if the item can't be sent using an SD label there should be custom shipping options available. Assuming the item was under 20kg the OP's subsequent post suggests the problem was category-specific; if I had to guess I would posit eBay's AI decided the item was something eBay does not allow to be sent via SD. However, that still doesn't explain why there wasn't even the option to use custom shipping before the category was changed.

@971397id - can you confirm what the item was and which category you initially tried to list in?

Well, that's weird - those options are for Royal Mail, not Evri. Can you take a screenshot of your settings on this page?

I have reviewed the details and let me inform you that you can list the item with that weight and dimensions recommended by eBay.

As per the agreement with post office / Evri store, they are supposed to accept the parcel even if there is difference in item weight and dimension - "if you have selected eBay recommended postage option on listing form".

Based on the past records, we have seen that they accept the item to ship the item even if there is a difference in the parcel weight and dimensions.

this was for a different parcel but 'oversize' (90x30x15cm) to what's 'allowed' on the options

so rules & regulations barely apply.

what a mess of a service.

I have just received a parcel 80 x 70 x 46 cm  x 16Kg  sent via simpleton delivery! Arrived via Royal Mail tracked 24 at a price of £6.10. Marketplace seller on the label. How the heck did that get through both systems?

The mind boggles... RM Tracked 24 max length is 61cm for a parcel of up to 20kg, and would cost £12.60 purchased from RM online.

Perhaps Simple Delivery actually came up with the right label for the item, based on the information the seller provided in the listing, but the item size & weight was much bigger when packaged?

Or perhaps RM are now waving everything through that says 'Marketplace Seller', even if it's a trombone with a 100g Large Letter label on it? 😄
