So simple delivery does not offer Royal Mail's bring my label service. When buying a parcel collection Royal Mail give the option of bringing you the label as well so there is no need to print anything. Simple delivery has taken away the Royal Mail bring my label option.
eBay probably don't even realise that RM offer this service which used by many people.

Why can’t it be booked online (eBay say you can do this)
all you do is input the tracking number I believe
this must be available in orders if it isnt shown with the qr code they give you
Might be worth ruining Royal Mail to check

You need to buy postage on the Royal Mail website for them to bring the label to you. It is a service they give at the time when you are buying the postage label from them on their website. You can't book a bring my label option afterwards - you can only do that for a collection which is a not quite the same.

I am forced to use their simple delivery because Royal Mail have done some updates to their platform and I can't get on it at all. My browser is suddenly unsupported (a tablet bought from Argos, namely an Amazon Fire with Silk browser). Simple delivery seems cheaper than going to the post office and only a few days left of that option anyway. I sympathise with your situation. I liked the convenience of using Royal Mail click and drop too. You can book a collection but the label has to be printed yourself it seems.

Whereas Royal Mail's website currently offers the bring my label option which is a brilliant service. But you can't book a bring my label service after a tracking number has been generated. It has to requested at the time you buy your label on the RM website. Simple delivery has taken away this option.

The website says if you’ve bought a label before you can
i don’t know technically who buys the label, seller, buyer or eBay 😐 but it must be in their system and home collection is obv from the seller…maybe they haven’t got round to sorting this
anyway v disatisfactory
apparently there’s community chat with eBay at 2pm
maybe ask them

Ok but it says different on RM , you can book if a label already exists
but you need to use their app

Oops butterfingers
lol

Yes, I tried that. When booking solely a collection there is no bring my label option. The bring my label option is only available when buying the label from them. They need to clarify that because on the screenshot you have sent it is not clear, I agree.

I got this from eBay which is nonsensical as the postman never prints off labels when collecting parcels on the doorstep. They are printed at the delivery office and he just hands me the label:
From eBay: "Once an item sells, sellers will receive both a printer-less QR code and a prepaid printable label, so you can choose what’s easiest for you. With the QR code, they will be able to scan it for you when collecting the item and issue the label for you."
Thank you,
Marco

No postman walks around with a thermal printer printing off labels on the doorstep.

I think whoever set up simple delivery knows nothing about the UK postage system and even less about how Royal Mail works.

I’m hoping what he actually meant was they will bring the label and scan your parcel
does the postie do that? Scan the parcel when collected and after label is stuck on? I’ve never used this service

You have to request the bring my label service when purchasing a label on the RM website. You can't request a bring my label after purchasing the postage whereas you can arrange a parcel collection after purchase of a postage label.
What Marco says makes no sense: "With the QR code, they will be able to scan it for you when collecting the item and issue the label for you". Unless there is a bring my label option on Simple Delivery I don't see how this would work.

"Collection is available with Simple Delivery through Royal Mail. If you'd like your sold item to be collected, make sure Royal Mail is selected as one of your preferred carriers. Once your item is sold and after you've generated a prepaid label on eBay, book your collection on the Royal Mail website. " No mention of the bring my label service.
So Marco only confused matters since Royal Mail don't offer the bring my label service after postage has been ordered. eBay should know this and sort it out with Royal Mail.

The post office print the label if you can get there and show the QR code.
