So simple delivery does not offer Royal Mail's bring my label service. When buying a parcel collection Royal Mail give the option of bringing you the label as well so there is no need to print anything. Simple delivery has taken away the Royal Mail bring my label option.

eBay probably don't even realise that RM offer this service which used by many people.

I've spent some time on the phone with Support and apparently, I've clicked a wrong button. They've sent me a screenshot of what I should have clicked:

I actually did select that option first, but it suggested I needed to get my label first? It's hard to say since I cannot get back there now, but ultimately I ended up selecting the big Blue button there instead.

This is apparently irreversible. They cannot cancel the label for me now or change it so I can arrange a collection without a printer. It was actually suggested that maybe I can contact the buyer, so I could cancel the whole order and get them to rebuy it and then I can get the postage options back. Amazing.

Lets just put it this way. I never contact eBay support in the 19years I used it BEFORE "Simple Delivery". But I've called them twice after it was rolled out. Their call centres must be getting destroyed.

I've always printed my own label by buying my post online from RM, laser-print their PDF Tracked 48 address label, cut it out of A4 and tape it on a box (of unknown size and weight when I list the item on ebay). Then I copy & paste the tracking number into My Ebay and maybe msg the buyer. Postie then collects next morning, saving me loads of hassle. Has always worked perfectly without a problem.

I'm especially peeved as ebay rudely switched my delivery options to 'simple', ordering me ship in 48 hours, when they relisted some items very recently.

Before I give it up as a bad job, can anyone say if this would still be possible with ebay simple delivery (oxymoron), what form does their fancy new label take? Can I laser print it onto A4? Also, does the seller's name & address appear on it? TIA!

All my listings are initially created on a Mac using 'GarageSale' software & everything shows delivery via Royal Mail but once the first cycle of 30 days pass & it's instantly relisted via eBay I've noticed the odd one reverting to Simple Delivery & EVRI being the only option I have. Was originally against the new system but, to be honest the Tracked EVRI option for a 2kg Small Parcel works out cheaper than RM Tracked 48 &, I get the option of either a Q code or printing the label myself. Bought a Thermal Printer ages ago so printing off 4x6 adhesive labels for any delivery service is not an issue.

I can’t say for Evri because I don’t use them but for RM labels it’s easy to purchase direct from eBay (and a bit cheaper)

and print the label as normal which has the buyers name and address, the tracking number, and the sellers name and address, (you can felt tip it out if you like) also when to use the label by I think

theres no weight or size on it though

I have used the Royal Mail website 'Bring My Label' collection for years and it has been great with only the very odd hiccup.

For the first time I booked two 'Bring My Label' collections via Simple Delivery (since I was forced to).

I saw the postie in street and went out see him and he advised he didn't have any labels and there wasn't even a collection booked.

I hurriedly went into the house and printed two labels off whilst the postie waited outside and then went on his way with them. Great service Royal Mail.

EBay listen to people and get rid of this ridiculous service you offer and stop dictating to people how we should send OUR parcels.

Everything was so much easier until you got involved.

I wish the weight was shown on the lable. Ebay have already guessed the weight of my secondhand books sold often wrong.

I would rather go back to my original successful method chosing my own postage at the RM post Office.

I see they have but I've now tried 3 times to get collection and bring my label without success.

In your orders you choose the date from the drop down menu, confirm date and it says done.

Guess what, no postie turns up.

A call to the local delivery office says I have no collections/labels booked.

Since no post office/drop off's near me and having no car I'm forced to get a bus into town then bus home all because someone thinks they know better and forces Simple Delivery on us without realising the implications of their actions.

As we all have fathomed out there appears to be NO Collection/Bring My Label Service available via Simple Delivery although you can arrange Collection ONLY via the Royal Mail website, NOT Bring My Label.

If Ebay are struggling to get the Collection/Bring My Label up and running why don't they speak with the experts, in this case Royal Mail and simply ask.

Can you (Royal Mail) offer via your website the option to Collect and Bring My Label for Items Already Bought.

These options are already there for anything bought direct from Royal Mail therefore you wouldn't think it would be terribly difficult to offer this service for postage already bought.

Sounds pretty simple and yes you would still have to jump between both websites and pay the 30p collection charge which I can handle since for me it involves a bus trip to get to post office/drop off point.

PS : The Royal Mail Website indicates for Postage Already Bought you can arrange for Collection/Bring My Label but in reality you can only arrange collection, no option to Bring My Label.

There is an asterisk * at this option which may mean something which I cant find.

Once you have selected and confirmed the date for collection you still need to click the big blue button to generate the label even though you won't actually be printing it yourself. You should then receive an email confirming the collection. Admittedly it's not very intuitive and could be made a lot clearer.

The underlying problem is that RM cannot be trusted to turn-up on the date booked. The Ebay service is fine, it's the RM one that fails...

I got an order at 2pm Fri, then booked collection for the Mon (yesterday). Low and behold the postman failed to turn-up and I at 4pm Mon I got a notification telling me to rebook from RM, so I had to rebook for Tue (today)! Luckily they managed to arrive today with said label.

So ultimately the Ebay service all works, but RM seemingly have staffing issues and often don't collect on the date agreed. Blame RM here.

Problem at the moment is the E-Bay end, they have an option for RM Collection and it doesn't work.

Been let down 3 times in the past 4 weeks, RM delivery office says nothing was booked yet if you go onto RM website all works fine.

Others saying the same.

Simple Delivery needs binned and go back to the previous set up.

Aside from the Ebay Simple Delivery issues - I've found that with the Royal
Mail option to "hide the sender's address" the Royal mail staff often don't
know where to pick up the package from. I'm not sure if that's just a local
issue, but it seems to be an issue in their process where they don't always
have supplementary information to the printed label.

Just thought I'd let you know, in the event that's a reason for packages
not being collected.

No it's not just my area (West Ldn), it s been all over the place, regardless of you happening to have no problem.

While I've had no problem with booking RM via Ebay SD at all, perhaps you and others have. One person's experience is not everybody else's.

I think they claim to offer the 'bring my label' option, however this doesn't work correctly, and Royal Mail are not notified to bring anything, even when that option has been selected.
