Simple Delivery

Is Simple Delivery mandatory now ? used to be able to select custom postage option but it’s not available now. Just tried listing and Simple Delivery is the only option for postage

So i asked on todays chat, will SD be in place for everyone by June 1st. They have no clue.

I phoned Ebay CS. None of your items are eligible. Total nonsense. 

I phoned again. The truth was probably revealed. "We have had alot of issues, those that are on it, are on it and those that aren't, we can't tell you when it will happen, no reason to think end of May...."

I don't even have an option for it anymore....

I have been selling vinyl records on ebay now for 22 years and managed quite well but this time I am afraid they have made a simple part of any transaction the most awkward and troublesome job on earth.

If it's not broken don't fix it but I am afraid this time after spending the last 2 days trying to make any sense out of Simple Delivery I see no way of making my transactions work so sadly I am off to find another venue for my sales. Just under 6k transactions 100% positive feedback wasted so it's goodbye from me.

I am the same.  Been selling my vinyl for years and now I am selling on Discogs.I also have my collection listed for sale on other platforms.So sad but I refuse to be dictated to.There is no business sense or logic in what they are doing and I am sure it will go way wrong.I am happy to be out of it all.

Hopefully if enough people complain they might have a change of heart but I doubt it.

Not only are Ebay making money forcing private sellers to use Simple Delivery but you may well find you have lost all choice as to delivery service. EVRI as proved in reviews are unreliable and unprofessional. I stopped using last time they lost (possibly stole?) an expensive Burberry coat!
Now I have discovered that despite opting for Royal Mail delivery via the forced upon me - "Simple delivery" scheme that the label was for EVRI!
When I questioned this - EBay replied "even though you have chosen to use Royal Mail as your default courier there may be cases where we’re unable to honour your courier selection, for example because of the weight of your item or the destination of the item. If this happens, we may provide a label for a courier you've excluded"
The weight was 150g and the destination was Sunderland  😬 - absolute tissue of lies so EBay can use the cheaper option.

A. Together? In the same box? What a strange question! You must always pack everything separately! Just make sure your biggest item will fit into the smallest box.

Q. So, I must buy two labels, or my buyer must buy two labels? Oh, how confusing it all is!

A. Nonsense! Simple Delivery can't be confusing! Even an earwig can use Simple Delivery... at least, no earwig has ever called to complain!

Q. Do you think this might possibly be just a bad dream?

A. It could be a glitch. Or did you have cheese on toast for supper? When you wake up, I will pass this on to the appropriate team.. 🤖 👾

Is the 2-10kg parcel weight available yet

if not why not?

ebay managed to enter all the new small and medium parcel prices for up to 2kg

this regularly used weight was left out

I am selling on Discogs now.

At least they trust you to go to the Post Office and back without too much trouble and that to me is Simple Delivery.

Give us credit for having the sense to look after our customers in what we think is the best way instead of spending all your time trying to squeeze more money out of us and our customers.

We should have the choice how we send our goods, not you.

If you sell LPs I imagine they go into a medium size parcel ? For less than 1kg?

the Royal Mail prices with simple delivery for that seems cheaper than RM

just curious why SD doesn’t do for this kind of item

LP’s are a small parcel.I can only use Royal Mail as our mail gets flown over to Glasgow every day and there are no courier drop off points here and unless ebay think that a 6 hour round trip is ok they can get stuffed.I removed all my listings about 2 months ago and won’t be buying from ebay either.
