Simple Delivery

Is Simple Delivery mandatory now ? used to be able to select custom postage option but it’s not available now. Just tried listing and Simple Delivery is the only option for postage

Re: Simple Delivery

I've just read the guidance about simple delivery. You have to arrange collection through the rm website

Re: Simple Delivery

You can but with SD for some reason they can’t bring a label for those who can’t print their own

(as they normally can when you buy your own labels )

Re: Simple Delivery

It’s still there for me on both app and browser

its glitchy so try again

also try “continue without a match” after you put title in and hit enter /search

I tried a few and it wouldn’t show the advanced options (browser) but it did after a few more dummy listings

i wonder if those sellers who haven’t had their items switched to SD yet can still access custom (like me)

or whether it’s  pot luck

actually it’s pointless wondering ..could be anything 🙄

Re: Simple Delivery

yes you do, but pretty straight forward. I do that even though could do via ebay (not simple delivery) because for some reason when arranging through ebay it would often be a day later for the collection date. You just need the tracking number.

Re: Simple Delivery

I phoned ebay a few days ago  about  simple delivery and problems I had and was told about 15th, not seen anything about it apart from that

Re: Simple Delivery

A lot of the prices stated are wrong, and not what Royal mail charge. I avoid evri as the lose or break so much and have the worst customer service back up

Re: Simple Delivery

If you don’t read ebay announcements or the boards (thousands don’t I imagine) you’re likely not to know anything unless eBay send an email to everyone

for something this important an email shoudl have been sent ( and remember if it was and when)

Ebay are chasing the new, young and cool online-buying market....those trendy young targets buy from V inted......ebay wants them to buy from here and doesn't give a stuff about all us old fogeys who've been buying and selling for 20/25 years.

We are no longer their target audience, we're too old....👵

Re: Simple Delivery

I sell on vinted and the posting side of it works. I only use evri and in 2 years have only had 2 parcels go missing. Vinted also use rm, dpd and inpost. I don't use rm, because of the size/weight thing and I don't use dpd or inpost because there are too many issues. Evri also aren't that particular on weight - I've sent parcels weighing 2.3kg on a 2kg label with no issue.
For me, the buyers protection fee (it's too high on low cost items) and the fact that ebay don't show all listings (it's in the user agreement that this is the case) are my issues with ebay. Simple delivery is irrelevant if there aren't the buyers

Re: Simple Delivery

Those young hip no time to spare young people stressed out trying to survive in the modern world financially are NOT going to pay silly postage prices

Vs postage is hugely cheaper than here

they also have ALOT more choice of couriers and collection points

and those young people can run to a local inpost locker and pick their

parcels up for 2.39 and if they want home delivery they’re not overcharged a penny for rm or anyone else

V don’t do RM large letter

ebay does, or did

so for eBay to not keep that at a normal price for those that want to use it is an own goal …losing eBay sellers

Re: Simple Delivery

Bring back the old eBay I say

this silly nonsense is going to be a death bell imo in many area s and I’m not being alarmist or criticising for sake of it

i like selling and buying on eBay

But ebay are making it horrible and expensive and constrictive like a boa snake

and stupid imho very stupid

Your parcel is small but we will class  it’s medium

you can send with rm for 3.45 but we will charge you 4.27

etc etc

on your bike mate

Re: Simple Delivery

I have used collection a lot in the past, especially in 2020-2021 - when Royal Mail didn't do collection -  and they collected every time, but once: I rang the local number and they apologised and came and picked it up that evening so it still caught the morning lorry.

When Evri lost something I sent I spoke with general customer services and they did help - leading to full compensation (a very expensive book).
They always collect from, and deliver to, the specified place, which does mean walking around the house.
We have a good service here. Christmas 2020 they found a way to override a parcel going to central sorting and delivered it the same day locally.
