Good morning everyone. Well tgat didn’t last long From 15th April SIMPLE DELIVERY will be MANDATORY. I am sure most if you will have received the email. I am far from happy and fed up with being dictated to. His do we cover packaging ? I have already dropped the price of my items as tge buyer is having to pay more because of buyer protection fee. They will be telling us we have to purchase their mailing bags , boxes and bubble wrap next.

Although I haven't much hope that simple delivery will work out for me, I'm in the 'wait and see' camp.

Well said, hit nail on head there
It's unbelievable...I've spoken to them three times on the phone and the attitude you get!!!
Why would I pack for nothing?...where do I get free packaging
It's hard enough being a seller these days
I'll definitely be looking for some kind of long term alternative to Ebay
As long as you declare income/ self asessment there is no compulsion to be a Business seller
It's not against the law to be a private seller with low sales. Businesses importing and selling 200,000 Chinese rubber washers should be classed as businesses, but most people keeping Ebay afloat are not in this category

Same here. Have a lot of 2nd Large & First class stamps stored up, so this new system is no good to me. I may continue to list anything I can use stamps to send (post cards, cigarette cards under £10 & under 100 grams). Everything else will be pulled from listing on 6th April, even CDs, which just trip over the 100 grams. Just great - Cheers, ebay!

I'm ending mine on 6th April, because, if I've read it right, ebay will automatically change existing listings to Simple-minded devilry on 7th according to this. -
Starting from 15 April, Simple Delivery will be the only delivery method available for private sellers when posting eligible items.
Simple Delivery will apply to new eligible listings by private sellers in the UK, and from 7 April to any existing listings that are eligible.

I totally agree. First Buyer Protection and now Simple (minded) Delivery has effectively killed off the sale of low cost items. Sell for £2.99 and pay £2.20 for tracked post. What planet are they on. The facts...EB were forced down the 'list for free' road by 'we all know who'. So they clawed costs back by the above mentioned actions. Not to forget the huge amounts of buyer/seller money they have to play with on the money markets.
Member since 2014, it all comes to an end on 15th April 2025.

They only put on FREE selling for a few months to drag back dwindling sellers
Considering EBAY is incorporated in Switzterland for tax reasons...it is no wonder they behave so badly
I will be seriously scaling back my listings after April 15

I sold something yesterday and it wasn’t changed to simple delivery after the sale, it was as I had put it
but maybe they’re not doing it everywhere just yet

way I see it is people will come back here only if they’re desperate
as I said plenty of places out there
not everything’s great on a lot of them but it’s not as bad as this omnishambles

I sell on Vinted ok enough ..it’s the new eBay in a way
There’s enough categories there for my bits and pieces and lots of visibility
the main thing there is is your item attractively priced enough as there’s plenty of buyers
and like other platforms It seems the more you list and stay active (ie deleting and relisting months old items) the better it tends to be as you get a fresh set of views for all your stuff when people trawl after looking at a “new” listing
But you have to be careful and it depends on what you sell you get scammers but it’s more for designer stuff they go for though of course your garden variety scammer is there too
im going to try ebid again after a couple years see how it goes
I do remember many moons ago there was a MASS exodus from eBay to ebid and now I can’t remember the reason why but was huge at the time
etsy is very very slow for me and a little expensive fee wise
Think I sold about 3 things in the last 6 months and last time came to over 30 %
but they had charged me for off site advertising or something….found out where to disable it now but thinking of shutting that down too ..

Trustpilot gives a 2.6 Poor rating for UK Ebid so definitely won’t be going there😡
It’s a proper auction house for me or a car boot/garden sale from now on. At least then it will all be legit with no buyers backing out or refusing to pay (more eBay lies about saying all bids are binding) and will keep the money in my local area and not lining the pockets of foreign dictators.
If you don’t want to move from one scammer company to another then I would advise reading reviews and doing lots of research before signing up for any other poor online sites. Time to deal with real people face to face not robots that do sod all except take and make money out of gullible fools.
