Simple Delivery problem

I listed an item. In the past when I used eBay's delivery options I could enter size and weight etc. But this time there seemed to be no such step. eBay assured me all was well, and they had calculated everything needed from the listing.

It sold. Using the GSP. No problem. That's always been great.

 

Not this time. The options I have (Royal Mail parcel) tops out at 61cm. The parcel is 73cm, and 20kg.

 

Trying to use eBay support is useless.

 

What options do I have?

I bought a computer power supply, and paid eBay for its delivery. They offered a faster delivery option for an extra pound.  Paid six pounds for the delivery as well as the price of the power supply, and waited.
Tracking seemed stuck at the first stop. Three four & five days passed with no trace and no progress with tracking.  It was Simple Delivery and tracking with Evri.

A week passed then had a message delivery is delayed . No explanation. Tracking remains frozen. Contacting Evri directly by email produced no response at first but then had an nice apology message and a promise of next day delivery. This did not happen.
eBay wanted me to wait longer before accepting there is a problem and refund may be possible (Item listed as not returnable).  Then had a message from the Royal Mail.
They stated we ave a parcel that was not paid for and we need to pay £9.40 to get it. We thought it could be a birthday gift  from a forgetful elderly relative who has done it before so we paid.  The parcel did arrive and it was our Simple Delivery which is being tracked as Evri's delivery. 
It seems to me that Evri people abandoned the parcel by dropping it at a post office and not paying the Royal mail for the delivery!  Why did they do that? What does eBay have to say? The seller is as puzzled as we are.  Now waiting for answers and we have already bought an alternative power supply. In all we could have had a quality brand new PSU from Amazon for exactly the same cost we have been made to pay, without any of the stress.

You could ask the seller where they took it.

Maybe they took it to a post office which doesn't do Evri.

Or maybe the PO put it in the RM bag by mistake.

 

Does the tracking show it was dropped of/anything else? Or nothing at all?
