Simple Delivery nightmare! Until yesterday I could choose custom and choose my carrier etc

How do eBay know the carrier, price, weight, size of box used to pack etc ?  Large letter is charged at 1kg even if it’s 250grams.  RM the box has to be 16cms max.  It jumps from 2kg to 10kg with no 5kg offered.

I always added a tiny amount towards the postage charge to help cover the jiffy envelope, packaging and mile drive to drop off.  Sometimes I was short and had to pay more than I guessed when listing but I was sure the parcel was the correct weight and size.

Now they not charging customers £2.70 for an item that cost £1.55 to post surely this affects our rating on postage charge?  One item sold was 20 cms longer than the max size for the option they charged my buyer and there is no way to purchase the correct label 🤷‍♀️😩

This is madness!

They could add 250 g 500 g and 750 g to the large letter and they could add 5 kg instead of jumping from 2kg to 10 kg for parcels.

The problem is ebay are using the £2.70 Tracked 48 Large Letter product which is only available at 1KG on the RM website online price list (page 5 on link below).

If ebay could accept that LL items worth upto the £20 compensation limit and 750g don't need the tracking (as you get delivery confirmation anyway with online labels) then that would open up the 2nd Class cheaper 100g, 250g, 500g and 750g  LL rates (on the bottom of page 6) again and make people like us happy.

For both 2nd Class and Tracked 48 parcels the RM weights are either 2KG (for small or medium) and 10KG (for medium) on the RM website online price list (page 5 and 6 again) so to be fair to ebay this is beyond their control.

Good post but we shouldn't allow ebay any leeway on this. They could easily do what you outlined in the previous paragraph but are choosing not to. Since BPF and now SD I don't even know what people are paying for my stuff anymore! This is either the work of a lunatic or A1 generated as no sane human would be imposing such convoluted, counter-productive, illogical measures.

"The key in all of this is the tracked aspect, ebay never see an item they do need to know though its been delivered etc to ensure funds released etc"

2nd class large letters still come with a 'tracking number' which will indicate when the letter is delivered.

Hence it *is* ebay's fault that they withold that option.

..and if they require tracked postage, then why the BPF?

Ebay are shafting both buyers and sellers on not one but TWO fronts.
