Seller cancelled a paid transaction citing it was my request - Not!

Bought a computer, paid for it and this morning got a DHL tracking number from them. This afternoon I get a message from eBay that the sale has been cancelled by seller & reason "Buyer asked to cancel" - totally untrue.

What's more the seller is still listing same model at around £70 cheaper! Really wierd. I have asked him for an explanation.

My question however, is how can I contact eBay to report the seller for cancelling with wrong reason -  to avoid penatlies probably. I've gone round in circles but cannot see a way.

You can report your seller here:

 https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/buying/resolving-issues-sellers/reporting-item-issue-seller?id=4022

Click on  "Seller has broken one of ebay's policies" I think it comes under "other".

Alternatively you can report straight to CS using this link: eBay Customer Service

You can also leave appropriate feedback to warn others.

Too true, your seller for whatever reason is abusing the system. They will get a defect for cancelling the sale and the only way they can avoid the defect is to say the buyer cancelled the transaction.  Do not agree to it - see  the above advice by guinevere

Don't know why they should cancel though when they're relisting at a lower price.  Really confused on this one.

Something doesn't quite add up there so I would give the seller a chance to respond first before reporting them.  They may have just made a mistake and cancelled the wrong order, otherwise why provide a tracking number?

When you say the same model - is it EXACTLY like the one you ordered in terms of the condition/photos?

No response or explanation from the seller. If I had had to cancel a sale, for whatever reason, the first person I'd contact immesiately would be the buyer, but this is not the case with this seller.
