Scam

I recently sold a beautiful Omega watch. It went to the Verification centre and got a clean bill of authenticity. The buyer was sent the watch from the authentication centre. He has now said the watch has water damage and condensation. He has sent me pictures of said damage BUT it is a different watch. The watch hands are a completely different colour. He wants a full refund and wants to send me his damaged watch! All I want to do is speak to an eBay representative but cannot find a number to phone in the UK?

Re: Scam

Your buyer should open an eBay return, they'll then be required to return it to the authenticator.

However, I would send an eBay message stating that the watch he's sent you photos of isn't the one that you sent, and that perhaps there was a mix up at the authentication centre, where he'll be required to return it for investigation.

I would also state in the return, once opened, that the photos aren't of the watch that you sent and that it's not the same watch as the one in your listing.

Re: Scam

Thank you. I managed to speak to a customer service assistant and they advised the same as you. I need to go through the process step by step, until such time as the watch reaches the authentication depot and they will thoroughly check the watch to match up with my listing and they will assess his reason for the return.

Re: Scam

This is where eBay's Authenticity Guarantee can be a bonus - the authenticator has checked and confirmed that the watch matches the listing description and passed it to be sent on to the buyer.
