You can turn it off and not use it.

Re: STOP AI DESCRIPTION. STOP

Maybe the OP was referring to the incorrect error strewn AI injected listings infecting the site - 99% of them become Item Not As Described potential claims.

Did anyone expect an ebay assisted AI to be a great innovation?

Re: STOP AI DESCRIPTION. STOP

I wonder if the descriptions are referring to the item that I am looking at sometimes. The descriptions are so nonsensical that I wonder why people leave them in - maybe they don't really want to sell their item!

Re: STOP AI DESCRIPTION. STOP

I assume the AI is only required to construct a couple of sentences using any words from the title and item specifics?  I do wonder why sellers don't proof read before they launch the listing?

Re: STOP AI DESCRIPTION. STOP

Exactly - ive asked if you can block a seller, and it appears no is the answer (adding a member to the 'Blocked Bidders' does not work in covering both roles).

ebay are alienating Sellers in a variety of ways, some can be avoided by repeated opting outs, others are dictates where the Mentors are seeking work a rounds for them.

Re: STOP AI DESCRIPTION. STOP

AI descriptions are very useful, especially when nothing else is added by the seller. They say to potential buyers, "Don't buy from me, I don't care enough to describe the item myself, or to add the information a potential buyer might want. Look elsewhere."

Re: STOP AI DESCRIPTION. STOP

I totally agree with you, I do not buy from sellers that cannot be ar$ed to describe an item properly.

Having said that, I am on an unofficial buying ban (4 weeks now), until I have got my pending selling funds down to a reasonable level.

When I buying it's a good filter to help direct my money towards sellers that were motivated enough to write a proper description. I can't actually remember the last time I bought from a seller using AI descriptions it's very unattractive and uninformative.

@wyntersemporium

Horses for courses , id opt for likkle words that are more accurate, rather than a 'War & Peace' offering thats stacked full of lies that present opportunities for claims against the Seller - oddly not ebay who designed the 'thing'

(By The Way - impressive use of Item Specifics by yourself - doesnt that take a lot of time? does it reap rewards from ebay search's ? i know its a none measurable, but you may have feelings)

I never would have written copious boring words in the first place. Just anything that's important not already covered.

Re: STOP AI DESCRIPTION. STOP

Indeed i too avoid listings with boring Ai inaccurate descriptions and never use it myself.

On many listings its just the same cut and paste waffle
