Refunded an order before cancelling it and it’s still pending for posting

I am a new seller here. A buyer bought something from me by mistake and requested that I cancel the order. I refunded it instead of cancelling it and it’s now still pending as if it’s meant to be posted. I can’t cancel it anymore. Is this going cause me any issues? Apologies if this is a really silly question and would appreciate any help

How did you refund ?

Refunds should only be done through a cancellation or a case the buyer opens.

Which method did you use to refund?

I just pressed the refund button at the drop down options for the printing label. I choose “buyer cancelled order”

Contact eBay Customer Services their lines open shortly at 8 a.m. contact CS then,  as there's more chance of Dublin answering.  They have full access to your account,  which we do not have here,  and can see whether anything more needs to be done.

This is the easiest and quickest way to contact eBay Customer Services, for a Call Back option.

 https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/eua?id=5275&mkevt=1&mkpid

Lines open between 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays.

9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends.

As said I recommend contacting CS very first thing in the morning, when the lines first open,  as there's more chance of Dublin answering.
