I wonder how many millions of items disappeared overnight from eBay categories. They must've shrunk between them and HMRC restrictions. 30 items and £1000 in sales for before they submit your sales to the taxman, including personal possessions HMRC are currently brown-lettering people they believe owe them money. During lockdown the government didn't like the economy's growing online and wanted to clamp down to kill it. Flatlining the gig economy's online growth, killing any chance to make money in a cost of living crisis. So once cash is no more, they'll be happy. Own nothing, be happy, and eat the bugs. See you down the boot, online selling is dead, fees and taxes are run by economy-growth-killing greedy clown's.
Oh let's call eBay China town because they're top of everything with fake items that take a month to arrive with import and VAT added to the buyers. Greed just greed.

The limit on sales before Ebay report to HMRC is about £1740 (2000 Euros).
Most sellers, even if they have given their NI number to Ebay will find that Ebay have not reported their sales yet so the brown letters are unconnected to Ebay.

It's pointless; it really is. You either increase prices drastically, or if you cut prices, the 30 items are very quickly surpassed. Even 30 items at £60 each exceeds reporting, so it really isn't worth the hassle and control from an algorithm and fees to make a few quid if they eventually decide to pay up after delivery. The time and effort to get a few peanuts isn't worth people's time. List 100 items today and see how many views and sales you would achieve. It's become an anti-seller algorithm-controlled sales platform.
HMRC are sending letters out even on YouTube. I've seen several people claiming they're getting them and for YouTube content.

"I wonder how many millions of items disappeared overnight from ebay's categories."
When the BPF was first slapped on private seller's listings I started watching listing numbers and daily sales in one small Saved Search I have in vintage glass. I chose it because that particular manufacturer is well known for its quality of design and finish and so is very collectable. My search could always be relied on to return 150 - 180 results and there would usually be multiple sales daily, with only a rare day when nothing sold.
Since then SD has been added to the BPF to restrict private seller's sales and I must admit that due to declining interest in all things ebay, I rarely look at the search results any longer but seeing your thread I looked again.
Must admit I was surprised to see listing numbers (this morning) are up at 197.
What didn't surprise me was that sales are down.

Yes, it's been good weather and the school holidays have started but sales aren't looking good and I wonder if listing numbers are only up because there are more unsold items being re-listed ?
I used to buy some of these items on ebay for my collection (the last one a vase for very nearly £200) The BPF might put me off to some extent but worse still is Straightjacket Delivery and it's choice of RM or Evri. Ebay must think I'm absolutely stupid to buy something when there is even the slightest possibility that it might end up being delivered by evri. Especially when even if I check with the seller that they have specified RM Only on the listing, ebay can still over ride that decision and it can fall into the hands of evri.

Auto relisting sell similar because they haven't achieved sales anywhere near what they used to do. Probably lucky to achieve a few sales doing that nowadays.
