The introduction of the eBay Buyer Protection fee of 75p plus 4% of the value of goods, effective from 19th February 2025 has effectively killed off eBay (UK).
Buyers have walked away and Private Sellers are now forced to drastically reduce their prices to try to compete with 'Business Sellers', who are not subject to the eBay Buyer Protection fees.
It's a great shame, and unless eBay's management team in San Jose, California see the error of their ways, and quickly, there will be nothing left to salvage from the wreckage !!

You are making a lot of assumptions there.
Absolutely no one on these boards gets paid even 1p for posting.
Some of us do not need to work 😁

We get paid £1 for every like (Kudos) although a £5 fine for a thumbs down.
It's all paid in vouchers although they can only be used in the Ebay high street stores and not online.

Oh yes. Because of it, I always thought 'cat fishing' should have been called 'dog fishing'!

Clearly, we get paid per word. And extra for commas and full-stops.
That is why my posts are usually overly wordy, with excessive punctuation.

When the item arrives safely who pockets that Buyer protection fee? EBAY Is ripping people off. NOT to mention you have to wait days before you get paid for items you sold.

i just could not be bothered putting one on, translated that as, at the time i did not have a clue how to', now i just cannot be bothered. Would not be a pretty sight anyway.

there you go, encouraging him! You do realise that he will be quoting that forever now on the next few hundred comments claiming we are all paid e bayers (better than being a paid assassin i suppose).

delantha raises a very good point.
what exactly does happen to the eBay Buyer Protection Fee, when the item has been delivered and the Buyer leaves Positive feedback ??
Is it just an additional revenue stream for eBay ??

With 116 items up for sale shouldn't the Seller be a "Business Seller" and declaring her income to HMRC and providing eBay with her N I number ??

Listing quantity is not the only criteria for looking like a business seller. 116 items is easily achievable from a house clearance.
116 brand new items would be different.
Also, in response to another of your posts, the BPF does not just cover delivery, it covers issues with the item after delivery.
