Hello All,
I just want to say a big "Thank You" to all Sellers. I know you are having a rough time with all the changes but I want you to know that your efforts are appreciated by us Buyers.
I have been a Buyer ever since Ebay started many Moons ago and have had only a handful of problems over the years, all resolved satisfactorily.
Ebay is my first "Go to" place for anything and everything and..I LOVE IT!!
Please keep up the good work and Happy Easter to all.🐣

Sellers and buyers are alike, some are good and a few are bad.

Hello and thank you for your reply. In my experience , I have thankfully had over a thousand great buys and just a few bad apples. I do only buy from those with 100% positive feedback to minimise risk.
Ebay works for me!
Happy Easter.

I've well over 20,000 feedback as a buyer, so I've bought a fair bit in my time.
In the wild west days I had a few bad purchases, but the myriad of fantastic buys - I've still got a 1930s David Andersen silver coffee set, worth about £3k today, bought for £150, and a Van Cleef & Arples gold gemstone ring bought from a fuzzy photo for £30 - and a very expensive fully hallmarked gold necklace, only gold clasps, the rest is brass - sums up eBay of old!
Can't remember the last bad purchases, probably three or four hiccups in the past 10 years. And I'm not fussed about who I buy from, well I never look at feedback before buying.
Though, in all my years on eBay, I've never once had any special treatment as a buyer and - as a reseller - they get their money twice, and in the most expensive category, to boot! Which does raise the question, do eBay appreciate the importance of buyers? Especially as their own research, which they have bragged about, shows that buyers who also sell on eBay buy twice as much as buyers who don't also sell.

I've had some wonderful buyers over the years, some more recently, who unknowingly had bought some of my late father's books (cricket & Wodehouse), and then realised they'd either known him personally or knew of him. A few of those became returning buyers. Shame that's all now out of the window.
Hope you still find what you want on Ebay as so many sellers have now left.

Hello and thank you for replying. I do hope most Sellers stay, ... because as Buyers,.. it can be great. I only ever sold 6 items when Ebay started and never since as it was too much of a faff for me even then!
I have every sympathy for poor Sellers now especially for those of a certain age, ..like me.. who find change very difficult! (I struggle to work parking meters now !)
Take care and Happy Easter.

Hello and Thank you for replying.
I am very impressed.! You obviously have a great eye and are not risk averse so have bagged some tremendous bargains. Good for you I say for doing your research.
I , as you have probably gathered, am very cautious and also tight as the proverbial , so my gains are very small but nontheless thrilling.
I only ever sold 6 items when Ebay first started and gave up as it was too much of a faff even then. I certainly couldnt cope now with all the legalities and rule changes which is why I appreciate those Sellers who remain.
Take Care & Happy Easter,

Can you tell me if you've already noticed a difference in your searching? Are there fewer sellers in categories you have an interest in? It's early days yet as SD hasn't rolled out to everyone, but it would be interesting to note from buyers how they're seeing the changes.
Happy Easter to you to!

I just want to thank you for a positive post!
It’s pretty rough on these boards at the moment so some good vibes are appreciated!

Hi and Thank you for your reply.
I have not noticed any changes at all in the Buying experience at all.
The only negative changes for me are the daily verification needed to sign in, even though I use a trusted device and have provided a copy of my photo bearing i.d.
All my recent purchase are still fair postage ,speedy delivery and problem free.
I do have complete sympathy for Sellers and have to say all the new rules and regulations have not encouraged me in any way to become a Seller.
Good Luck and Happy Easter.

Hi Jo,
Thank you for your kind reply.
I have complete sympathy for Sellers , especially those poor souls who are trying to negotiate what appears to be a minefield at the moment.
I am sure things will get better soon and this forum is invaluable for all who are struggling.
Happy Easter and Best Wishes

Apologies for error ...I meant to say Private Buyer ....I really don't think I could handle being a Seller nowadays, Life is tricky enough when you are getting on !
