FOR GOODNESS SAKE WHAT IS GOING ON WITH eBAY ???
Visited my local Post Office outlet this pm. The customer in front of me had 4 of her items sold on eBay refused due to incorrect printed labels supplied by fleece-bay. The member of staff confirmed this customer was not the first to be turned away today.
I am sure that I read, eBay stated Post Offices will accept all items for dispatch.
Thats another incorrect bit of information from eBay.
The question I have, is what does that poor seller now do with those 4 items ??
OKAY, eBAY ENOUGH IS ENOUGH … GET IT SORTED.

Sister got the same sold a coffee machine went to post it last Thursday - post master said the label was 2KG when it should be 4kg. I told him to send it as it’s nothing to do with me.
told him it’s eBay’s new simple delivery and they’re getting the weights wrong

We thought of local delivery office only trouble is they’re only open for 1 hour at the desk and that’s 7 am only

I’m not happy it has that marked on it either - I have tipped some of my private on to my business page instead or will grab a bottle of tippex of a sticker to cover it up.

That’s not the best.
The 2 that I go to are 8-10am and 4-6pm Mon-Fri and 8am-12pm on a Saturday.

*I tell a lie they are only open 8-10am on a Monday. They won’t re-open late afternoon that day, I’ve been caught out by that before but they have the priority postboxes on those sites.
I’d love to know the logic of opening at 7am for an hour that seems backward. How are people supposed to collect undelivered parcels if they are working at that hour.

That would take a hell of a lot of bubble wrap... 🐘
A jumbo sized roll presumably.

I haven't used this yet but what happens if you just post the parcel as usual? Do you not get paid?

😆
I'm definitely sticking to small parcel at the moment , but as of Monday that means postage on my listings for small parcel goes up from £3.45 to £3.74 or £4.27
My father on my advice is not relisting a couple of medium parcels for now. If the prices of SD stay and post offices accept them, it will make those medium parcels cheaper...

How does it get the weights wrong? Surely you select a weight? Tho at the moment it leaps from 2kg to 15kg and is missing the 2-10 category.
Are you saying it was listed at the proper weight but that the label came out at less?

Don't buy it on ebay, apparently they are usually short by at least 10%!

As ebay have created this ill thought out flawed farce - then should ebay not be financially compensating the sellers who are wasting their time and costs to resolve a newly made problem not of their the sellers doing?
Id suggest just leaving the packages at the post office, but ebay have the funds paid (kinda like the items are theirs then i guess?)

Maybe send the items to the ebay UK boss with a covering note telling them its now their job to arrange onward delivery. Just write Freepost on the box.

easy to say they will accept it and if not report them but that should not have to happen. Obviously there has been very bad communications between the various parties and yet it is the seller who is paying the price. What is the seller expected to do with the parcel, pay the postage themselves and then report it to e bay or take it home and report it to e bay???? Whatever, as i say the seller ends up trying to sort out an unnecessary problem.

I much prefer the walking off from e bay option, which i have done.

i have never put in any weight or size, do not waste my time measuring because i know mostly what they are going to be, i wrap and take to the post office. 99 times out of 100 i am correct, if i have over estimated i refund the buyer, if i have underestimated i take the it. All that weighing and measuring is just another unnecessary step for me.

that should go down well in some of the local post offices! NOT
09-04-2025 9:24 AM
Are you really indicating that someone is actually 'managing' this.......
09-04-2025 9:25 AM
very likely to, when you consider that just walking in the street can get you hospitalised for no reason these days.
09-04-2025 9:30 AM
but how do you know that 99% are going through without a problem? They may well be but it may be completely wrong so why not just say something like 'the majority'?? Once again using figures without any back up, something that many people have been criticised for in the past when they were on a rant!.

I have never used SD but do sell mainly clothing and you are correct in that they do in the majority (of my items anyway) fit into small parcels. There have been times when i have got it wrong (not many) and in those cases i refund the buyer or stand the extra without a flinch. My decision and i will not be subject to it being anyone elses.
