Hi,
I sold an item on Ebay just 5 days ago which was only £20.00 + the £1.52 New Buyer Protection Fee to a UK buyer, and I posted it by Royal Mail using the Post Office counter service and paid £3.75 Postage costs out of my Own money, since I offer Free P&P on All my listings to UK buyers.
It arrived to the buyer very swiftly, and the buyer was nice enough to give me immediate Positive Feedback in which I immediately reciprocated in also giving the buyer Positive Feedback. However, when looking through my Ebay Orders Page - it says underneath the item a message saying :- Funds pending – awaiting delivery
Well, I know that on certain occasions with The Royal Mail when posting items by 1st, or 2nd Class Post, or occasionally Recorded Delivery, that when the item arrives to the buyer, that when visiting the Royal Mail Track-And-Trace website to check if it has arrived-or-not - https://www.royalmail.com/track-your-item - that after typing in the Tracking Reference number which is printed on the receipt which they give us, only then ends up with a message stating :- An update will only be provided when we attempt to deliver your item - even though it has indeed been delivered to the buyer. So I can only but-assume that there is some incompetency by the Royal Mail themselves.
So, my Query to Ebay is, that, given this new system with the Buyer Protection Policy causes a New Delay for Sellers receiving the payment for the items they sell. Surely the Positive Feedback given from the buyer - saying that they Have received the item - should fast-track the funds to be released to the seller automatically . The Feedback should dictate that to Ebay management loud-and-clear - and the AI (Artificial Intelligence) which I assume is running this new system.
I sold another item - 2 days later - which was More expensive, so I used Royal Mail Special Delivery, and The Royal Mail in this case - did their job properly - as they Always have with Special Delivery items, and when I used the Royal Mail Track and Trace Service, it show that it was received, and that information was passed to Ebay, and the buyers funds was released to me for that particular item without much delay.
Like I said, I really think that there should be some connectivity between the Buyer leaving Feedback, and the Sellers getting Paid. So, at this moment in time, I am just left dangling, with that £20.00 still in Ebay's hands, wondering and waiting if I am ever going to get this money.

You should get your money, but it may be 14 days.
Unfortunately they don't accept feedback as proof of delivery, apart from for items under £10.

Thankyou for that, but I do think a common-sense approach by Ebay should surely be adopted. Positive feedback from buyers is only given when the buyers receive the item. Even more conclusive when the Feedback I received for this particular item said :- Great item and rapid delivery!! Thank you.

I totally agree with you. But the problem is eBay want to keep our money for as long as possible.
They know their tracking system is glitchy. Not a new thing. Been happening for years. They also know that the couriers don't always remember to scan delivery.
So they are doing this on purpose.

Yeah, possibly. Oh well, I'll just have to wait then and hope I get paid..

I don't use RM for this and other reasons.
