'After all, SD has led to more feedback than probably all the other recent changes put together.'
And it does seem to be the overwhelming reason why unhappy private sellers are leaving/trying other platforms, or stopping selling for the time being, hoping that SD will be made optional rather than mandatory.

Threads about BPF are a clear and close second. Ebay is changing this. But rather than just going back to selling fees they are trying to make the BPF more complicated. What do I know! This is coming from a very, very disgruntled ebay member.

Looks like you've fallen for the "shaped by your feedback" line there, moonlight-rhapsody...
It's lubbocks. By using that phrase eBay gaslight users into thinking they have actually listened to users' concerns - very much like Rachel from Accounts trots out the "Labour are putting more money in people's pockets" line whilst hiking taxes left, right and centre.
"shaped by your feedback" should read "eBay have realised far too late what an absolute horlicks the company made when it introduced recent changes. Income has fallen off a cliff but rather than admit our mistakes we're going to tweak the Buyer Protection Fee structure so it looks like buyers are paying less (by pennies, but don't tell them) and then claim we're making changes because we listen to users".
Shaped by feedback. When have eBay ever made changes based on user feedback?

It's what Eve Williams said, and ebay has the opportunity to prove the veracity of what she said by taking on board the feedback on Simple Delivery and making it optional, as per my original post.

Am I missing something here.
So an item costs £ 7.00 with free postage would have been £ 7.75, but now is £ 7.00 + 10p, +7% so 49p extra so a total of £ 7.59,, hardly a real deduction. Also Buyer will also have to pay an extra 70p as postage for this item is only £ 2.00 using stamps so a reduction if forced to use SD would be £ 5.45 +2.70 so £ 8.15 to the buyer !!

Ebay should put it back as it was before simple delivery and stop ripping buyers and sellers off.
