Just tried to list an item. Can't put free postage option. It's simple delivery or nothing. They're just making this even more complicated now.

I couldn't believe it when I saw "Simple Delivery will override your domestic postage policy" on the listing page - but then I noticed "switch to advanced options" to turn that off! Funnily enough I was in the Post Office a few days earlier and I noticed a bunch of Evri/Post Office tie-up gumph including a card that said Evri doesn't provide compensation for (lost presumably) collectables, antiques, art, ephemera and a few dozen other things LOL

I just tried to revise one of my listings to find a message saying this listing as now been changed to simple delivery. The "switch to advanced options" button has disappeared so I guess I  have now been 'Enforced'!

I won't be listing any more items now due to this enforcement, and as a futile retaliatory act I will only buy from ebay as the very very very very last resort.

Hello, it seems that many sellers aren't getting the "change to advanced" (or custom) option - I guess that long thread you mentioned suggests that the Evri 'Simple Delivery' service isn't a SIGNED service which makes it very unsafe...I have no idea what this Evri nonsense is about and I only mostly use the now expensive Royal Mail (while I can at least) for it's simplicity - I have zero faith in its compensation promises (from experience)!

Has this thread just been marked 'solved' as I didn't notice it before?! Solved in response to an old message from someone who said that they (unlike many others apparently) have now seen the "change to advanced settings" option?  What the...

Not that anyone's on this thread despite it coming top in my google search (?!) but I just checked and removed 48 listings that had been CHANGED to 'simple delivery' with the (supposed) opt-out gone.  Weirdo's with contempt for sellers.

do you mean click on collection, list then relist with postage only, as i have tried it ,and cant get it to work, also you are supposed to be able to pick postage only if your items are under 10pounds,which most of mine are , it still will not let me list. thank you for your reply.

Postage choice

I am trying to send a large letter Royal Mail 48 tracked  (but unsigned) but I'm unable to do it. I'm really fed-up with ebay choosing how I post something. I want to choose my  postal service, not use a service forced on me. I've complained about this before, and the old postage options were reinstated. But now they have been taken away again! If ebay doesn't stop doing this then I will be forced to stop selling with them. I am really, really, really tired of this.

Ebays system costs around the same as getting the postage through Royal Mail directly (give or take a few pence)

or do you mean it won’t let you chose large letter ?

Not for a standard large letter. Ebay charge around £2.70 - Normal cost is £1.55 2nd class.

Yes I know that but mousecode was trying not send a tracked large letter and I’m not sure why they couldn’t

I tried to do the same revising an item for sale and custom postage option is no longer there. At the top of the page there was

! This listing has been updated to be posted with Simple Delivery. Your dispatch time is now 2 days.

Ebay is an absolute joke. In less than 1 year, they have completely ruined the whole thing.

They started with no listing fees

Made you have to withdraw funds to your account unless you did it yourself

Then kept money until item was delivered (14 days after item sent if you did not use a tracked delivery)

Made you wait 2-5 days to get the money in the "ebay balance" after the item was delivered

Then under-handly put the fees onto the buyer as a stupid (buyer protection fee)

They then started reporting to HMRC for 30 listings and £1000

Forced their own simple delivery

There really needs to be another alternative to the old ebay format as ebay sucks for private sellers

Yep. It's now enforced.

I have items that are made to order and take several days to make. The automatic update deleted all of that so I have to send out items within a couple of days. No warning either.

If you make things to order you are a business.

Business accounts don't have Simple Delivery or the buyer protection fee.
