OK. Simple delivery will override your domestic postage policy. It's here

Just tried to list an item. Can't put free postage option. It's simple delivery or nothing. They're just making this even more complicated now.

OK I had to go into advanced postage options and turn it off. Never had that before.

I'm still seeing "Offer free postage" below the Domestic Postage heading.   Try sell similar or relist from a previous listing.

I suspect that this is the one bright idea that eBay WILL rescind.................and pretty soon!

Yeah I know. It won't let me turn off EVRI even if I wanted to go down simple delivery.

Unfortunately this is what it says:

"Unable to exclude all couriers.

Make sure at least one courier is available to buyers for your Simple Delivery listings."

Ebay have made it impossible to opt out.

I found this worked for me , I'm using a laptop and Chrome, no idea if it works on apps or mobile browser.

If confronted with a current  compulsory Simple Delivery, no other option,  in the Postage section click on Collection, then go back and click on Postage Only,  custom option then appears and you cans elect the service and charge you wish to use.

that is what i discovered i had to do!     Started a couple of days ago, listed an item, relisted one all in the old way.  Then about an hour later i was trying to relist two more and this farce started.  I thought they had someone decided to make SD compulsory on the sly but after messing around i found out that i needed to do it this way.  It is either a glitch or E Bay are trying to fool people into thinking they have no option but SD.

Here's what you need to do now. Each time you relist/sell similar/new list. Hopefully screenshot help. It will only let me do one at a time.

I ended all my listings a week ago as I was on holiday. I have today tried to relist them all using the sell similar function. I am being offered the chance to offer free postage but there is a box saying the seller will pay £2.94?

It costs me £2.75 to send a small parcel by RM 2nd class, so what is going on?

Had a head scratch moment. Listing dolls clothes and had the SD/advanced option (old postage method) extra clicks but ok. Went to list adult clothing and only SD available! even going to settings only SD there! Thank goodness for the 'collection in person' hack clicking that then reverting to 'postage only' to be able to select Royal Mail parcel. What planet are ebay on? If ebay want to control everything from descriptions to dispatch and banking they should just start a shop themselves.

Thanks for the above tips sunflowers. What an absolute effing faff trying to relist stuff. Nearly 50 items I have relisted/sell similar this afternoon and every single one I've had to trawl through menus to get "custom postage"!

Over 10 years selling on here and never had any problems with non delivery using RM 2nd class with proof of postage.

One particular sticking point was trying to sell a pair of shoes and it took me around 15 minutes to do it. Ebay wanted to charge £3.95 for postage using their "Simple Delivery" whereas I'll be sending it for £2.75.

If anybody at ebay ever reads these forums, here's a tip to improve customer experience. Either provide a "Custom Postage" button/function on the initial postage info page, or have a setting in sellers preferences for permanent custom postage on all their listings. I for one will never use  simple delivery and you certainly aren't making it easier  for the many of us who have managed without this function for many, many years.
