Just tried to list an item. Can't put free postage option. It's simple delivery or nothing. They're just making this even more complicated now.
Solved! Go to Solution.

I would rather do this every time than having to have simple delivery. I want to use who I want to use and when. I can't do QR codes and don't have a printer!!

They plan to enforce simple delivery, so they are not going to allow a custom option.

If confronted with a current compulsory Simple Delivery, no other option, in the Postage section click on Collection, then go back and click on Postage Only, custom option then appears and you cans elect the service and charge you wish to use.
I'm finding this is happening as well, seems like a bug, would you be able to report this please dave@ebay kat@ebay marco@ebay
As far as I can see it's happening when you do sell similar from a recent listing where you have already opted out of simple delivery. So doing sell similar from an old listing (pre simple delivery) I see this:
Doing sell similar from a listing where I have previously chosen custom postage I see this with no 'switch to advanced options'. I have to click 'collection only' or 'freight only' and then back to postage at which point it shows me the postage service / price set on the original listing and the option to change to simple delivery

Yes, I found this when I was restarting a few ended auctions last night - there were a mix of things unchanged (not eligible for SD), things with the line below the new postage info for "Switch to advanced options", which was a straightforward click-through to relist as previous postage, and things without that line. I skipped the last ones and went back to them to re-investigate. As I began with a heavy coat I needed a higher charge for, I clicked on the box for size/weight entry and found if I clicked for larger item it took me to a button for Custom Postage again, so I used the same option for the smaller items, which worked. I could not figure out how come some things had the easy-click link and others did not, there seemed to be no logic about how it was distributed. However, I managed to do what I needed in the end - but yet more faff added to the listing process by eBay. Vinted is a pleasure in comparison. And I've sold virtually nothing here since BPF came in (one collector's item book). This platform is killing its own business IMO.

I took everything off then put it back on and have sold a few things took ages to sort refunding postage on things, one person asked could i combine before buying so i had to take it all off then list as one lot. Am not going to list anything new i can't believe that people are still trying

Just had the dreaded message off eBay that as of 15th April they are only allowing simple delivery- custom delivery will no longer be an option - hate it - nightmare - people can pick £3 Evri option for a £300 item - worst decision eBay have made and that is saying something 😤

Simple Delivery isn't simple as a process, it's ebay forcing a service on people they consider too simple to make complex decisions, such as choosing the correct or safest postage option.

Hi thanks for that just turn evi off.

Why on earth would you consider opting out? Ebay have made it clear that they think it's a wonderful idea that will be safe, secure, and save money.
Ebay is Mother, Ebay is Father. Obey.

They are gently nudging you to buy a printer. There are plenty on, er, ebay.
You will be given a QR to take to the post office, you can print it out (see above), or they can scan your smartphone. If you haven't got one of those, there are plenty on, um, ebay.
If you have more than one parcel and more than one QR code, have fun trying to not mix up the parcels. In any case, you should never have more than one item to send as a private seller, more than one proves you are a thriving business, hence why businesses remain in control of their shipping methods.
Simple Delivery isn't simple as a process, it's ebay forcing services on people they consider too simple to make complex decisions, such as choosing the safest or most effective postage option. To ebay, we are all Simple Jacks, and they have gone 'Full Simple Delivery'.

I Would now not use free delivery now as ebays postage cost more (small parcel 2kg £4.27) new RM price will be £3.45 ? ,+ 4% added to item cost and not on postage , the big worry is this new prices are being imposed on all odd listing ( anything over 100g ) so anything over 100g will be £2.74 at the lest & £3.74 for a 1kg owch ,have not found to 20% saving on postage ebay are saying ?
