Have eBay suddenly slipped into the "Labour Party" mind set ?
Backdoor taxes Etc.
Only get paid on delivery and you think that helps protect sellers.
Ebay have cooked up some really " bonkers " ideas, but this one takes the biscuit ( your money )

Unfortunately I have a horrible feeling that the "Only get paid on delivery" rule that eBay have imposed on sellers is going to result in a sharp increase in the number of sellers being scammed by unscrupulous buyers alleging that the item was never received so as to get a total refund of the money that they paid to the seller and therefore end up getting the item for free, unless the seller can prove beyond all reasonable doubt that the buyer's allegations of non-delivery are completely false and that the item did indeed arrive at the address provided by the seller.
If eBay don't wake up and realise that these latest policies are likely to prove to be the final straw for many sellers on the site, then I wouldn't be at all surprised to see 2025 panning out as the year in which a significant number of sellers finally decided to throw in the towel and leave eBay for good. Should this scenario end up playing out then it could potentially end up leaving eBay in one hell of a mess from a financial perspective. Sellers generate income for eBay via the money generated by purchases from buyers, but if sellers start abandoning eBay like rats deserting a sinking ship then I really can't see how these recent policy changes are going to benefit eBay in the long term.
In summary I think eBay may well have finally pushed things to the point where the resulting damage to their income stream, not to mention the ever-increasing damage to their reputation resulting from their seemingly incurable habit of implementing very badly thought out and extremely unpopular changes to the stie, will eventually prove to be too great for them to recover from. You can only push your luck so far before it suddenly backfires on you and blows up in your face spectacularly.

Nothing back door about having to pay for the NHS etc. and eBay are also upfront about their plans. You may not like them but they are written out for you to complain about. 🙂

Which part of huge pay rises for train drivers pays for the NHS?
I miss the days when the NHS wasn't a pseudo British religion but just something working people paid into to be able to get a GP appointment if they were ill.

You mean the train drivers and other public sector and NHS workers who have been grossly underpaid for 15 years while the public services were run down into the state they are now.

Not the place for politics with a multi faceted issue of pensions, diversity and inclusion staff and stress on services due to uncontrolled irregular immigration. The fees are on buyers and probably incorrectly and illegally categorised for 'protection'. Ebay dont follow UK news re repayments for PPI etc. A compulsory fee for protection that already exists unless ebay are pulling their existing free buyer protection. It will cost sellers if they have to adjust sale price to still be competitive. A race to the bottom hurts all.

What does this virtue signalling word salad actually mean? If people are able to use the NHS as some universal way of shutting down any discussion then disputing that spurious pious psuedo religion is perfectly valid. Here and anywhere else.

absolutely disgusting how they lied and conned people. Firstly they dropped the disgusting 12% fees, and even went on TV saying " no selling fees" now they've added 4% variable charge...absolutely disgraceful, once they'd got everyone on board by dropping the fees, they've now bumped them up again, my sales are on the floor now..
