NO TO SIMPLE DELIVERY!

Now the loopholes I were using, and ebay's live chat support agents were recommending, I'm finally done with eBay and will use somewhere that hangs Gum in Trees instead for now.

Shame on you eBay.

For anyone else still using eBay, after each listing and use of a part of the platform where you get the offer to leave feedback, do so, leave a 1 star and type NO TO SIMPLE DELIVERY in the box.

👍I'm a big fan of giving direct feedback to eBay. That said, I now like SD so much that sometimes I miss it when the category won't allow it. Still glad of the new £20 and under chance to choose for myself between SD and Custom Postage.

Bully for you, as they used to say.

If you look at the replies to the pseudo-petition thread, hardly anybody said that they want Simple Delivery to be stopped entirely - most people (including me) said that they thought it should be optional.

It may well work for some people but to me it feels like eBay thinks that after 24 years of selling with not a single negative feedback as a seller*, I am incapable of arranging my own shipping, want to prevent me from using my own methods and charge me (and therefore the buyer) more. Maybe the long term plan is that older sellers who object to Simple Delivery will just die off.

*I once got revenge negative feedback as a buyer (in the olden days) for whom I had left negative feedback because their goods had arrived damaged and they would not accept a return.

I'm sure you're right, but I wish they'd waited to launch SD until after that had happened! 😁

Re: NO TO SIMPLE DELIVERY!

Indeed this is my view too, the answer is ALWAYS options. I don't care if ABC has the DEF feature I don't like, as long as I have the option to change it back to XYZ, then who cares, everyone can have their choice

But this forcefulness has put me off. Ebay sadly won't fail enough to close down over this, but they will lose a lot of genuine good sellers, which will move to other platforms, which benefits nobody

I feel it also discourages a multi item order. Unless a seller specifically wants immediate payment, it would be better if ebay didn’t muscle in straight away. It would be nice if a buyer could purchase items over a couple of days (or however long a seller deems acceptable) and then have a combined invoice sent whereby the seller could enter the combined weight and size of the package and then ebay could issue a postage label. That would never happen though as it’s above ebay’s tech pay grade.
