AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.

I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

There was something i needed that was only on here, i refuse to give this lot any money via sellers of any type now so bought a much better aquarium light on another site. Have not bought on here since 27/12/24

Yes i've started there, ok it's quiet but if many of us go there it won't be and there's no other option for low value small items

The saddest and most annoying thing 🤬 about the last few recent policy changes is that I tried to maintain my positive feedback for 19 years and now they have ruined what used to be a great buying and selling platform.

I am also stopping after 21 years and eBay even encouraged us to offer FREE DELIVERY as it would increase sales!! So now they have blocked that option!!!

Now eBay will post at extortionate prices and stupid sizes and will not be dictated to with buyers forced to pay more.

The question is where to go to keep the pocket money stream going? Suggestions please.

I'm in exactly the same boat,Ive been selling a 40 year card collection over the last couple of years. Ive just retired and started deleting all of my postcard listings this morning.Ive still got quite a few to go but they will be gone by the end of the week.

Luckily I managed to transfer most of my Ebay listings to E**d about 3 months ago when the writing was well and truly on the wall. Footfall is nothing like Ebay but its just a nicer place to sell with none of the nonsense which seems to perpetually afflict Ebay,the forums are a lot friendlier as well.

I go out of my way not to buy anything on Ebay now ,so thats bad news for the business sellers Ive spent lots of money with over the years. Additionally Ive found I can get most of what I purchased on Ebay elsewhere and cheaper thanks to BPF. I'm not sad and angry though,just like the banks who only care about money Ebay deserve no loyalty whatsoever.

On the pricing there is no equivalent of a Royal Mail small parcel 45cm x 35cm x 16 cm, so it jumps from letter to large letter then to Royal Mails equivalent medium parcel 61cm x46cm x 46cm

So I currently pay £3.39 for a small parcel with Royal Mail, under Simple Delivery it will cost me £3.74

It is a blatant lie that Simple Delivery is competitive

Yes i've had some lovely feedback recently 21 years positive. I enjoyed keeping people happy, finding that special postcard for them, wrapping things nicely, giving extra gifts (the man who bought a toy lamb for his child i put and extra one in). Always combined postage and refunded any overpaid. Often sent some extra postcards and if i messed up would refund in full and send something free as well. 

And we are seen as the bad people, the cheats, well they are losing the best and the buyers from business.

I still need to make an effort somewhere else, husband died last year and i have just brought the whole attic (so the speak) downstairs as don't want to leave the hoarding for my sons to clear in the future.

Might look like a business selling masses of toys but they are over 20 years old and the washign lines were like Noah's Ark 🤣

On the phone with eBay Customer Services this afternoon and it seems that items priced at under £10 will not be part of the mandatory "Simple Delivery" scheme. Mind you, watching how things have been developing, I wouldn't be surprised if this changes too in the near future - at which point I will probably leave eBay completely.

I think they also have to be under 100g.

I am sorry about your loss. It just really gripes me that long standing ebay members such as you and I and many others are being faced with the take it or leave it choice. Luckily I have found 2 platforms that I will try out when I remove my listings in a few days as there aren't many and yes I know I'll lose out on ebay as a private seller but will hopefully gain on another platform that appreciates it's users.

Well that doesn't surprise me. Although my items weren't high value as such there is no way I would sell them at under £10 plus with packaging protection they wouldn't be under 100g plus I don't agree with SD being compulsory so there are 3 good reasons for me to stop selling on ebay.

According to eBay today, "low value" items are those with a price tag of under £10.

I am banned from liking things now for a day, people still believe the lies cs are telling not me. I saw through them months ago and won't be taking in by any new nonsense about them changing things to help low value sellers. Good luck with your new platforms. I'm trying to help my 87 year old friend who has continued to list things and just can't understand what is going on

i complained about the 'simple' shipping today. I just dont get how it makes it simpler, in my minds it jsut over complicates the whole system. In the past two months ive had to change every item price, and then change every item listing. Now i have to change every listings shipping. I do not make any money for the time i spend being jerked about by ebay. Its a shame, last year i made alot of sales,best year ive ever had, but now its really died down as well. Its such  a shame.

Luckily I've only got 4 listings left which I'll remove in the next few days. Ebay have ruined the platform but luckily I've found 2 other platforms that I'm going to try out as a seller.
