AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.
I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

I'm not going to CP the entire post, but what I'm talking about is slap bang in the middle of your copy paste bit.
Even fragile items... blah blah.. packaging guidance..
How do you prove you did follow said guidance?
They do not accept photos or video as proof of packaging. To the best of my knowledge they never have.
So how exactly do you accomplish that?
& the way they worded that doesn't mean it's exclusive to fragile items either.

Sorry to be pedantic but I think it`s important to point out that it`s Simple Delivery (SD) that will kick in for " items that are over £10 and over 100g " and not Special Delivery.

How do you prove it was packaged properly ? A question for next weeks community chat maybe
if they don’t allow photos or videos that plainly show sold item being packed
that’s plain BARMY
re the loss compensation, I doubt very much it depends on how you packaged something that was “lost” unless you sent it in a bin bag and item got shredded on the way lol
dont think eBay are linking the lost and damaged parcels here in any way
but what do I know

all items listed under £10 and under 100g regardless of how much the item has finished on custom delivery will still count
———
if you are referring to auctions there this is incorrect according to ebays community staff chat last week
its the final price that counts

No its the old help page, nowhere is SD even stated. It should read if SD isn't used then these apply .
And give a new paragraph on SD t&cs

In the past if I haven't for some reason previously saved the image then I have done the following:
1) Right click image
2) Select Copy image
3) Open 'Paint'
4) Click Paste
5) Click Crop
6) Click Save As
7) Click the jpeg option
😎 Save it in the appropriate folder on my pc

Nearly 17 years on ebay and I am off now too.
I cant keep up with the constant rug pulls from ebay. I just don't need the hassle anymore and ebay have completely ignored my begging to remove the simple delivery service.
They want to profit from my postage, destroy my tried and tested system (+16 years, 2800 feedback 100% positive) and its not worth fighting for anymore.
I stand with everyone jumping ship. Ebay isn't a place that works for sellers anymore. The motto seems to be profits over everything. Thanks for any amazing 16 years, its been trying particularly over the past 18 months with all the changes, but for now OVER AND OUT!

Go to the simple delivery help page scroll down till you see contact eBay when the chat pops up type speak to agent …. Again when the bot responds type speak to agent … as your on the simple delivery page it was ask is it regarding simple delivery …. Respond with yes then you will choose a call back and will speak to someone who specialises in simple delivery …. I did that twice yesterday and today and I was told the same thing …
”all items listed under £10 and under 100g regardless of how much the item has finished on custom delivery will still count”
I wouldn’t mention it on here otherwise .

We don't doubt your sincerity, but we also know eBay CS have a habit of saying anything to get people off the phone.
I've got transcripts where they basically told me a load of rubbish. Things that could have caused me problems if something had gone wrong with the orders.
& even if it is correct as of now, doesn't mean it will be forever or even tomorrow.
As of a month or so they changed their terms and conditions so that can make changes without notice. Before they had to give 15 days, before that 30.
Private sellers that continue to sell here are walking on quicksand.
They can change the game on you whenever they want to.

Ebay could sort the god almighty mess out by saying Simply Stupid Delivery is optional, and not mandatory. But of course they would have to remove their heads from their backsides and admit they made a mistake. Their total lack of communication on the topic is outrageous. Ebay Inc should stop using eBay UK as a testing ground for crazy ideas like SD, BPF, and holding money for up to 14 days. But they don’t give a toss about their customers (buyers & sellers); it’s all about profit!!

See replies 2 and 3 from last weeks community chat
they say it’s on final price
i think the left hand doesn’t know what the right hand is doing or whatever the saying is, all over ebay with this new system ns it’s not on customer service agents or community team…uNLESS they’ve been told to fob people off…it’s higher up the screw up rests
also @ andha-21
me too
customer agent assured me large letters would be exempt from SD if under 100g and £10
yesterday eBay “updated” their help pages to say no they won’t be
16-04-2025 10:35 PM
At least you tried helping out.
16-04-2025 10:39 PM
Well that just goes to show how A I here isn't working.
16-04-2025 10:43 PM
Just asked a 3rd time and I’m correct . When you list an item that’s under 100g and under £10 custom delivery remains even if the item sells for over £10 .
16-04-2025 10:43 PM
I'm glad you find it interesting. I think its even slightly better than a soap because there are so many plot changes from day to day and plenty of good posts every day.
16-04-2025 10:45 PM
Just asked again and spoke to a guy and said I want to hear your answer without telling you want the other 2 agents told me and he confirmed all items listed under £10 and under 100g regardless of how much the item has finished on custom delivery will still count” 🤷🏽♂️

The point being made was
who is correct?
customer agents or community team staff, you’d think they were on the same page
at the moment in this case I’d be inclined to say customer agent seeing as it’s the third consistent statement made to you
but unfortunately it’s not de facto guaranteed
i will ask myself and get back to you tomorrow they’re closed now
i will also ask about large letters again! Being exempt from SD Because they told me one thing (granted two weeks ago) and eBay say another

Once again. I'm not denying what you are saying. Just we know what eBay CS do.
A while back there was a seller that posted here. Invoicing was broken so they asked eBay CS for help.
CS told them to send the buyer an invoice via PayPal. An off-site transaction which is completely forbidden under terms and conditions. The kind of thing that gets accounts banned.

I’m not surprised one bit . I even said I was recording the conversation so if not sure I’m more than happy to wait if he needed to ask a manager . I am absolutely furious with this s*it show . Just opened an account with e b i d will see how this all plays out .

hilarious but furious at the same time 🤯😂
