AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.

I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

In that case be prepared for more exclusions regularly as they make things up as they go along.

Who exactly is the 'me' in your post?

Are you talking as buyer or seller, because buyers have never bought postage from carriers directly, they used to pay the seller's price and going forward they will pay Ebay's. 

With SD sellers don't buy labels from 'middle men'.  Buyers pay ebay for delivery.

You're not the first person I've seen mention the email from the 2nd April - I never got one which is odd, I've just double-checked.  I got the email on 31st March about the SD but nothing since.

My sales are paused as a form of protest. Don’t know if it’ll do anything but I’m not going to be dictated on how I should post stuff etc. Well eBay go teach a granny to suck eggs.

I certainly won’t be taking this lightly nor laying down. I’m going to fight against it till the bitter end. Yeah I might get my account taken down if I go too far, but screw it, I’m in the right and they are the ones in the wrong. So tough. I have my principals and I’m making a stand to not sell until to sun is shining through the darkness once again. I’m going to ruffle feathers against this so called mandatory simple delivery which is a fancy way of saying no choice and restricted freedom.

So I just signed up at another place and looked for a few items from my ebay wishlist to see how many I would find, what the protection fee and postage would look like after adding them to the basket and start building up my feedback and experience there with a few small purchases ready for if ebay don't reverse this SD disaster and wow my eyes were opened to how expensive ebay are even before SD happens.

The me is in myself. And for the record Obey have muscled themselves in as the middle man between me and my choice of who I use. And like I said earlier I don't like dealing with middle men but like to deal with my choice of courier direct.

But are you posting from a buyer or seller perspective?

While sellers undoubtedly have lost almost all control over the courier used to deliver their items, buyers now generally have more choice than when sellers just gave them one option.

Also, those YouTube videos you are all getting so excited about are made by businesses trading illegally on private accounts who shouldn't even be subject to SD.  How stupid.

eBay should be a platform to buy and sell. 

Not trying to be a delivery service and benefit financially from this. 

But time will tell if they succeed.

I'm posting from both perspectives. As a seller recent changes have cost me sales because most buyers only look at the main listing page only and in a lot of cases the price they see is not the price I listed the item at. As from a buyers point of view I do not intend to be taken in by the BPF joke. After 20 years I am getting very used to the changes that in no way benefit buyers and sellers.

I'm pretty sure the definition of 'me' is self explanatory and the same for everyone. Usually it's that one you see in the mirror and normally mummy or daddy get you to look in the mirror and see yourself at an early age. After that, when you say 'me', you mean one self. You can even point your fingers at yourself and that one is called 'me'. Try it. It makes it really easy to get the hang of.

So, I think most people would accept that when @rugbyguy1960 said 'me', he is simply referring to himself.

Exactly. The whole point of this platform was for normal people to be able to sell and buy without all the draconian changes put in place.

Yeah I'm coming to the conclusion that this SD fight might not be worth it and just let ebay decline and other places will do the things required to pickup and service the buyers and sellers that leave. I'm going to hedge my bets and be multi-platform going forward.

My attitude is that i am old and grumpy and do not see why i should have to try to 'work around' simple delivery.  If they cannot let me sort out my own postage etc then i am gone.  Not messing with it.

That really seems to the best option moving forward by giving myself multiple options instead of giving loyalty to one for so long who seriously don't care.

I'm enjoying your thread immensely and your voice is perfectly valid. Like most of us, I never expected eBay to become this crazy or to have to explain to someone what the word 'me' means, but it seems there is no bottom to how low things can go....... 🤣
