AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.
I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.
31-03-2025 5:08 PM
And hopefully many other platforms.

I will also be removing all my listings on the 15th of April and will not be purchasing anything from ebay.
I hope and urge any private seller with a minutes time to spread the word on whatever platform, social media and encourage others to do the same, even if it's just for a week.

I've been advised that if existing listings are going to be removed it's best to do it around or by 6th before they get altered by ebay.

I only have one listing, when that's gone I'm gone. I didn't mind changing to postage with tracking and I understand that now I have to keep under 30 items a year, even though they were knitted baby items that sold for less than £8. But I don't want to do the delivery online. I don't have a smartphone, I use a laptop and type out delivery address and take the item to the Post Office. Can't understand this new system. Been on Ebay since 2006 and still have 100% feed back. Such a shame but I don't understand the logic of forcing this Simple Delivery on everybody 😞

Like you I am seriously thinking of stopping selling on Ebay as a result of this . I have been selling for over 22 years .
YOU SIMPLY CANT SELL ON A PLATFORM THAT IS RUN BY PEOPLE YOU CAN TRUST !!!

Wow Reddit is really interesting puts Trustpilot in the shade

I think this upcoming change by ebay will spread like wildfire and be of interest to many of the other platforms.

I feel the same. Loyalty obviously counts for nothing. It honestly makes me wonder why on earth did I try keeping my feedback at 100% for so long. I've always gone along with their policy changes until now. This upcoming policy change is one to many and has finished me as a private seller on ebay.

This is the info I have been given -:
Probably best to stop before April 15th. Check the small print.
Simple Delivery will apply to new eligible listings by private sellers in the UK, and from 7 April to any existing listings that are eligible. If you selected buyer-paid postage, this will stay the same when your listings are updated. If you’re covering the costs, they’ll be deducted from your sales.

So long Ebay, after 23 years it's time to leave,it was fun at times but this is just the last straw, C Ya

Delist 16th April
Leave one dummy listing with reasons why.
31-03-2025 5:56 PM
The small print just confuses things even more because although the policy changes happen on the 15th the announcement small print says this -:
Simple Delivery will apply to new eligible listings by private sellers in the UK, and from 7 April to any existing listings that are eligible. If you selected buyer-paid postage, this will stay the same when your listings are updated. If you’re covering the costs, they’ll be deducted from your sales.

As clear as the mud in their heads

Ebay will only be useful if a item you want can't be found elsewhere at a reasonable price. In my eyes it is no longer the number 1 choice for private sellers or buyers.

Adios Amigos.

I think even saying mud is a compliment. I think a thick fog is a good description.
31-03-2025 6:08 PM
I believe you, me, and many others now feel the same.

This is total madness from ebay. First came the "buyer protection fee" and now this. Not only will I have no control over the postage cost of my items, I very much doubt ebay are going cover my packaging costs. Moreover, I will loose control about where I post them. I typically use royal mail as I can post them in the post box at the end of the road. If the buyer is now given the option to use Evri, I've then got to go and drive to the drop off and then wait to be served. This is increased cost to me, takes more time out of my life, and adds to my carbon footprint.
For info I sell discontinued Scout badges to raise funds for a Scout Group. Most sell for about £1. The "buyer protection fee" has already increased the buyer cost to £1.79, and unsurprisingly I'm selling less badges. And as I use 2nd class postage (to keep things to a minimum) I now have to wait an extra 2 weeks for pay out. "Simple delivery" is the last straw, it just makes things too difficult, and so I too will have to close down all my listings in 15 Apr. But, ultimately it is the Scout Group I'm raising funds for that looses out. Way to go ebay!

7th April is when they start changing current listings to Simple Delivery
31-03-2025 6:15 PM
It really has become a nightmare. I'm removing the last 4 listings that are up but not sure about waiting until the 15th because of this in the small print -:
Simple Delivery will apply to new eligible listings by private sellers in the UK, and from 7 April to any existing listings that are eligible. If you selected buyer-paid postage, this will stay the same when your listings are updated. If you’re covering the costs, they’ll be deducted from your sales.
Have you looked at preloved
