AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.
I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

Finally seeing sense 75p on low value items was extortionate, now all they need do is make SD optional for if anyone even finds any use for that service

If the changes were working smoothly (or working at all) there'd be no need for all these updates & all this backtracking..it's laughable how badly these changes are being implemented.
Heads should be rolling - not just for the mistakes that are being made but also for all the unnecessary bad feeling that ebay have created.
I'm going to get a big bowl of popcorn, sit back & watch this site implode in the coming days,weeks,months....

I don't use QR codes either because they are a security liability.

Yes there is always a down side to their notices/ changes ,you have to have a 100% clean record to get your funds quickly and have made x amount in the last 12 months so looks like I will be having to wait for my funds still because 2 buyers went to ebay when there was a problem instead of contacting me first so that I could resolve the problem .

why would they have to get rid of BPF? SD was optional for a few months before they brought in the other changes and started to make it compulsory (just not many people seemed keen to take it up - wonder why!)

I've just been reading on MSN that "Ebay slashes compulsory buyer fees"
WOW !!!
My head still hasn't settled down from the speed of spin to get that from introducing buyer fees one month, then reducing them a little now.
A bit like ripping the shirt off someone's back then giving them back the buttons.
Keep taking down those listings and not buying, they might hand back some scraps of cloth next time 🤣

Just moving the chairs around. Simple Delivery needs to be optional and not mandatory.
Simple Delivery is not acceptable to me period.
There should be no BPF at all.

They've already lost a large chunk of private sellers and they are going to continue losing them because they're not listening. They're pretending that they are listening.
Simple Delivery MUST BE OPTIONAL AND NOT MANDATORY.
Capiche!

As long as those cases are no longer open and were resolved without eBay having to get involved then they shouldn't be counted.

I just use the 6 figure number under the QR code to print out my label with evri ,no QR code to scan ,but not so easy with Royal mail as i don't own a printer or smart phone and I need the QR code for the Post office to scan so they can print a label ,so that has been more work having to get a friend to get the QR code onto their tablet for me ,so I can take it to PO for them to scan , simply being able to write the Address onto a parcel and take that to the PO was so easy .

Not here. They won't be able to afford to sell it here. Postage costs on Simple Delivery are way too high. All you'll be doing is reducing the cost of what you're selling and increasing the shipping cost. That will never work.

The revenues are going to collapse. When the private sellers go their private buying will be greatly reduced.

SD isn't doing Royal Mail any favours either they are still losing money ,and our post office which is a large on in WH Smiths is empty of customers it is very noticeable .

To be honest as a seller I do prefer the SD because you don't need to have money to pay to post items that is now down to the buyer to pay the postage with SD so if I am having to wait for payments it doesn't matter I can still post the item at no cost to me .

Pimms 'o' clock whilst waiting for the buyers to start queueing at the door 😎

A new notification received this afternoon states that they are reducing buyer protection fee.

If SD ever did become a optional choice most private sellers would go back to using RM as their preferred carrier.
With a certificate of posting or in my case using 48hr tracked, items I posted would have a decent level of cover if a claim needed to be opened and I know that through experience so no need for BPF which is just another money making exercise.

At least my 100% feedback from human users with no A.i feedback would be ok. For now the sales i made in the last 12 months werent great but they should do.
But since I stopped selling at the beginning of April then the longer things take for sensible changes to be made then that 12 month period for me won't be great.
