NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.

I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

I don't get 'suggested weight'.  Neither do I see 'Domestic'.  Can you (or some other reader) please provide specific screen shots from online version.

As you say 'normal' evri rates are not available under SD, which is why you're having to opt out and use cheaper custom 2.5kg postage?

Which is still possible for now but won't be once SD becomes mandatory.

UNLESS (here's hoping) it never is...

I understand Simple Delivery hasn't yet rolled out to everyone, but knightinarmour has got both Simple Delivery AND Custom Delivery options.  I've only got Simple, and I've always understood that once you'd got Simple, you couldn't switch to Custom.  If you could have both options, like knightinarmour has got, it would resolve the problem of *having* to use SD, it's what most of here want!

I used to have that version of the page and at one point there was a bug where you had to click collection only and then back to postage only and text would appear underneath those options saying something like 'switch to custom delivery'.

If that option isn't available there should definitely still be something like that to cater for any items over the maximum weight / size.

You could also try setting the item value to £751 see if any different options appear

I don’t know what to say. On the app and on the main website I have both SD AND options (by various ways) of switching to “custom”.

I have the same options as you both SD and custom postage.

Also no 2-10kg parcel rate.

In one of the weekly chats someone asked about the 10kg rate and they said when you have been rolled on o SD it would appear.

As we both don't have it I think we haven't been completely switched over yet that's we can choose both postages systems

Well I still have that option , and have created two adverts which I have saved ready to list 

that’s all I want to do is be in control of who I use and more importantly support our vanishing post office shops 

as they say once it’s gone it’s gone

I tried setting it to £751 as suggested and made it Live with custom postage.  Then I revised it back to the correct cost and again made it Live, still with custom postage.  So far so good.  But when I went back into it, I got the banner saying that it had been changed to SD so I've taken it down again.

On another item which I found I could list this afternoon without SD, I've checked that it's still Custom, and discovered that now I've got both Simple AND Custom options on that item!!!

There are weird things going on!

Click on your account picture in the top right and select 'My subscriptions', from there you can click the box next to the subscription for this thread and select delete from the dropdown options.

Edir: And remember, every time you post again on the thread it will re-subscribe you!

And just in case, in your email program set up filter(s) to stop those emails or, as preferred, move them into a particular folder. Works for me.

Its absolutely not been taken into account at all!! Its absolutely *bleep* for our small business now (artificial flower designs) as we are definitely losing money as there's just no bloody options for postage prices especially on our items that have variants or more than one item the postage would go up accordingly to suit the weight/size etc.

Example: Say a wreath priced at £40 16" the postage would be around £8 and we would arrange with royal mail to come and collect it perfect, absolutely no problem.  And if they bought another item on the same sale it was automatically set to change the postage to suit. Now if they buy anything the postage stays exactly the same regardless if they buy one or two items its absolutely ridiculous why have they changed it, there was absolutely nothing wrong!!

Ive just put a new wreath on and there is a matching wall basket as an option so its been listed as single items, wreath £40 and basket £25 and then an option to buy them both for £60.  So if you just want the wreath the postage is £6.59 (up to 1kg) and then if you put both in the basket it still stays at £6.59!! Obviously its gonna cost me a lot more than £6.59 for two parcels as the larger wreath if its listed separately would need to be up to 2kg!!.  Its absolutely bloody ridiculous this new simple delivery and also I will never, ever, ever use Evri, yet they are the only other bloody option im absolutely disgusted.  Something needs to be done about this there needs to be a stand against ebay and these changes its just not fair

ebay is trying to make me pay £6 for an evri package yet i can go directly to evri where they charge me £2.62. a very scummy money grab

I made an offer on an item that had simple delivery on it to begin with and
then it was changed to just Royal Mail so I made the offer as it had
changed to just Royal Mail, then the seller countered and now its back to
simple delivery!!! I'll message the seller but I'm not paying the very
expensive £4.25 for Royal Mail and I won't use Evri out of respect for the
seller, as a lot of sellers don't want it.

Well said, I have removed all of my items..... Simple Delivery is a disaster for everyone concerned....

that is what i see, i used to be able to click on one of the others and then click back on to postage only and custom was then shown.  That stopped a few days ago.  All my listings and relistings still showed custom but when my one potential bid showed up as paying/sending by SD.  I cancelled the order (e mailing the bidder apologising) and de listed all my other ones.  Slick and slimy e bay!!

and with that last comment i think we can all agree!!   Could E Bay have made a bigger mess of this??   Anyone in a normal company would have been sacked for this major ..... up!
