NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.

I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

You can choose your postage options, but click and click and click and click ANYWHERE WITH DOTS, LINKS, UNDERLINE and you will stumble onto it. Choose an old listing to start with and less than £20. AVOID CLICKING THE LARGER LETTER BOX.  Good luck.

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

Nope. Thanks for the reply but on my case, no matter what I choose, I cannot generate a label. Red banner ‘There has been an error and we are unable to create a label’ Can’t get past this, no matter what.

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

Not ebay's fault but the NI thing after selling very little of value has put me off.

I agree.

The fact that I am now not selling any stuff means I am not buying anything much.

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

I don't use the QR codes as ebay creates printable labels.

The QR option is no hassle though if you have a smartphone.

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

No smartphone, no printer, I have to screenshot the qr code on my basic tablet, take that to post office for them to zap. I have to always remember to take tablet with me which I always used to leave at home, I am not glued to my tablet. Oh yes, that's simple alright, no hassle!!

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

My partner has been on ebay from the time they  started so he has seen a lot of changes over the years some not so good ,and recently some of the things he has sold are showing the sold price as £0.08 p going back to August sales  which isn't right and who would sell something for £0.08 p regularly .It has been reported a while a go but it hasn't been fixed and he isn't the only one this is happening too .

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

Hmm, I have over £300 worth of postage stamps, purchased before this simple delivery craic reared its ugly head. I have started listing small/medium parcel sized items (free post) where I can under £20 in any category that will accept a custom delivery, as most people search by item and not category. This is what is has come down to so I can rid myself of the stamps that I purchased for around £120. I see that the Americans have been asked what they think about simple delivery prior to it being implemented. Ebay needs to accept that we need to at least have the option of SD or not. If i can offer free postage, then obviously with everything factored in, I can give the consumer a better deal, therefore move more of my unwanted items. ebay…WISE UP. NOTE: before the trolls bang on about me being not being a business seller, I buy and sell to improve my collection. I am on a pension, submit my ebay accounts to the tax man and accept returns , I would also add that after ebay banked over £500 of my money and made me use my own cash to purchase a £150 item, I no longer rely on eBay to purchase items, this has obviously changed  now, but i always hold a grudge. I have spent thousands over the years, I am now down to around £230 since May. Apologies for the rant, but I needed to get that orf my chest, there are only so many times you can bang your head against a brick wall before you wise up and say #### it.

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

It’s that simple that when I get to the print a label or QR code ‘Something went wrong and we cannot create a label’ every time, without fail.

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

I absolutely agree.

I now only buy here if I need something I can't find easily elswhere. As for selling again, ebay have not done anything whatsoever to tempt me to start selling again. I'm definitely not spending what I used to on here.

No wonder ebay have asked users in the US what they think of SD.

If it ends up being a mess there like it is here then I don't think the platform would cope with the number of unhappy users like there is here in the UK.

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

It's just become such a mess here nowadays.

SD is not fit for my needs so im not selling. Buying here is no longer fun anymore.

All the costs involved in buying and selling feel like premium charges for a platform that is a long way off from being premium.

It was good to see Am**on being fined £1.9 billion because of their practises. Maybe they'll look into the practises here next.

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

It is confusing for buyers on items that are either posted or collect in person. I have collection enabled on some things and this is where the ad looks confusing. Postage £6.65 but ebay have included the line 'Save £5.54 and get it fast. Collect this item in person for free'. The buyer might think they will need to pay £1.11 of the postage.

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

Some of the wording they come out with here nowadays is awful and confusing to say the least.

I do hope practices here do get looked into.

The best example would be making SD compulsory for so many users while it was, and still is broken, and is still a long way off being the finished thing nearly 6 months after it was meant to have been properly launched.

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

Until i can see a common sense thing happening here i will not sell here anymore.

I do not agree with listings being altered just for the benefit of this platform. SD which is still broken really does need to be made optional across all areas.

I honestly do sympathise with users trying to make the best of a platform that has become such a horrendous mess.
