NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.

I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

Me too because when I took the parcel to the shop (for Yodel) yesterday they refused to accept it because it was too long yet it wasn't even a metre. I couldn't ring the courier to see if they'd pick it up because the buyer paid Simple Delivery. I had to ask a buyer to cancel. I was unfamiliar with Yodels max sizes. I know other couriers go by max volume but I couldn't tell with SD.

Even as a buyer I was looking for a memory card secondhand but I don't want to pay £2.70 postage for such a small item.

And I only had 3 orders in the last month including this cancelled one. just 3 years ago  I got 20+ orders a month but that was long before this & other ebay debacles.

yes, for regular sized items it's fine & even easier because you don't have to copy & paste the address to the postage site but for long or large items it simply doesn't work

For combined ordera ebay urgently need to implement:

(1) a facility for the buyer to request an invoice before paying (maybe "committimg to buy" as before to stop anyone else buying) where the seller confirms the combined size/weight and

2) a facility for the seller to combine orders already placed separately again by confirming size/weight so the buyer gets the correct refund from ebay. Such refund should be nearly instant.

Both of these could result in a SD label of the correct price, size and weight.

The existing crude and unfair method of just bumping a combined order to the next rate should be withdrawn.

Ideally these facilities would cater for if the orders cannot be combined efficiently due to max size/weight restrictions by the carriers.

Also as an aside there should be (3) a facility for the seller to correct an insufficient label and pay the difference for example if they need a bulky label.

What a stupid mess SD is! 
I sold 5 programmes to the same person, all listed with my Custom Postage. On sale, ONE was changed to Simple Delivery - why?  
Just listing a cassette, I find some have changed to SD, some have stayed with my chosen Custom Postage.
Same with other categories. Similar items, different treatment.
I have a stock of many stamps to use, so SD is no use to me. If sales are changed to SD, I will have to cancel them as Not As Listed, because I listed them with my own choice of delivery.
Not at all happy with ebay!

When devising SD it's clear that they put implementing ebay's needs way ahead of the user needs.

Combined SD postage can be fixed at no ongoing cost to ebay if they implement the required functions.

I relisted badminton rackets where the buyer had to cancel because the SD postage was wrong which I didn't know until I took the parcel to the shop who refused to take it. You probably read my earlier post Well guess what ebay only put my item to bulky parcels up to 30kg & £12.97 OMG it's way too much because the parcel weighs less than 1kg. No-one gonna pay that. I'm take the item down  its diabolical that ebay are too stupid to let you put the weight in yourself
