AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.
I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

I'm guessing you just received that notification too lol.
Maybe some of our posts are starting to get through.
It's still a long way off from convincing me to start selling again.
If they made SD completely optional then I would seriously consider selling again.
17-07-2025 11:12 AM
I got that too.
Do they really want to know what we all still think ?.
My thoughts are still -
MAKE SIMPLE DELIVERY OPTIONAL and get rid of BPF and re-introduce Seller Fees so things can actually be transparent here again.
17-07-2025 11:12 AM
The saving from this update to BPF is on a linear scale from 65p for a free item (not that you can sell at that price) to 5p for a £20 item. So, for example, 35p BPF reduction for a £10 item (reduced from £1.15 to 80p). Beyond £20, the saving is 5p.
I'm not sure I can be 'reminded' that everything converts to SD on 6th August, since I've not heard before even though I think I have been paying reasonable attention.

I'm glad you agree.
I've never used evri to send anything because they are not in the same league as RM and cannot match RM regarding service either.
I want to deal with RM directly when I post something and until I can do that again here I will not start selling again.
When I used to list items as auction I used to see watchers and I'm 100% sure that most of them only wanted to see what a item sold for. The number of watchers dropped when I listed things at a fixed price.

I just relisted 3 low value, under £10, letter-sized items and there was no change to the buyer protection fee!
Still 89p charged on an item offered at £4.11 - so much for the changes "starting today"!
17-07-2025 11:27 AM
I think its all part of yet another set of changes but this time starting on 6th August.
17-07-2025 11:28 AM
not a lot! I was just about okay with BPF and waiting for payment because i think with my items it had a negligible effect and i was not in a need for the money. However, i will not use SD, does not matter why someone does not want to use it, we all have different reasons, just that they will not. Yes a lot are happy going down that route and good luck to them but i will not. I liked e bay as a site even though i was fed up with them keep messing things around which did not need altering (searches are hopeless now). Yes, if they made SD optional i would be back without a second thought although i would also keep the other site i am on active. Now i have experienced somewhere else out of my comfort zone and it is okay i may have to try another one as well...

Exactly, it says 'from today, you'll be able to see updated rates on your listings....' 3 of my things have changed, the rest the same. And some have gone to SD today too. So the nightmare begins...... just as I've got prices to £4.99, £9.99 etc etc, it all changes to weird amounts again with no notice.

What you said is totally right.
We all might have different reasons to not want SD being forced on us.
So now more changes coming on the 6th August.
I wonder what 'Changebay' will come up with next.

A great example of making it look like they are giving with one hand but are still trying to take as much as they can, anyway they can, with the other hand.

Hello Everyone,
ebay are waking up, read below latest news from Ebay
| |||||||||||||||||||||||||
For now, you’ll receive your funds after the item is delivered. Once you’ve met the criteria, we’ll notify you through the eBay app. From 6 Aug, you’ll be able to track your progress in the Payments tab on My eBay. |

I too have received the same message, could it be that eBay are finally realising just how unpopular this new format is for people and are now trying to sweeten it by offering little incentives to try and win back sellers. You never know perhaps the good old days may return at some point 🤞.

It's just so typical that sellers will have to meet a criteria to be able to receive their funds like they were able to until funds being held was introduced.
At least from 6th August that will be one positive.
Although I have no sympathy whatsoever it must be awful to not be able to reintroduce seller fees because they'd have to get rid of "it's free to sell". Plus making SD optional would mean they'd have to get rid of BPF.
What a absolutely self inflicted mess.

Have never seen a company run so amateurishly.
Ebay have become an absolute joke.
17-07-2025 12:12 PM
Maybe some of our posts and thoughts are starting to get through and they are realising this feeling won't just go away.
Or possibly the first 6 months figures have been studied and the projected figures for the next 6 months are not looking that great and so now they need to try and encourage private sellers to start selling again and try to stop private sellers leaving the platform like they have been doing.
17-07-2025 12:15 PM
Not rocket science is it?!
This was always either going to end very badly for ebay or they were going to have to do a complete u-turn.
The nonsense continues.......🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡

So very true.
I have never ever known a established and well known company having to make so many policy changes and new announcements regarding changes over such a short period of time.
I'm now wondering what new things will be enforced on us and what further changes will happen next 🤔.

It's honestly like waiting for the next episode of a long running tv series and no clues given as to what might happen next.
17-07-2025 12:35 PM
Hah yeah...in this instance ebay has gone from being Dallas to Eldorado.

Maybe something called karma is starting to happen.
It just seems a bit strange that yet more changes are being announced that are meant to be beneficial to private sellers who also brought on here and yet quite recently private sellers weren't a target for this platform anymore.
