AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.
I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

It’s 8 calendar days from an order date if tracking is not updated by evri or RM failing to scan delivery for sd orders

It also means that eBay can add a bit extra on to the postage cost for themselves!

So far Evri have been 100% reliable with my Simple delivery parcels that I have sent ,where as royal mail have not been so good by not scanning simple delivery parcels on delivery even though items 48 tracked through ebay ,so have had to wait some time to receive the funds .Also ebay themselves are sometimes not good at releasing funds when they should do ,I had to speak with agents after funds had not been released after the 2 days had passed ,the item was delivered 11.28 am and over 2 days later the funds hadn't been released so by early evening I contacted CS who took some time to sort my query out even they said it depended when the parcel was delivered and I told them 11.28 am and after the chat ended the funds were still not released immediatley ,yet all the other items that were delivered around the same time on that day ,funds were released in the 2 day time frame in the morning .

I have received an email with "Updates to eBay's User Agreement" today. Has anyone managed to work their way through it and noticed anything we should be aware of? I'm afraid I'm all "eBayed out" and just can't make sense of it at the moment, and as I am not currently a 'user' I must admit it is not a priority! They say they have updated the T&Cs with regard to the protection of children, but I wouldn't put it past them to change other stuff in there at the same time. I wish they would produce a summary box of what the changes are like other companies do. I will try and have a look at it over the next day or two.

it is as they said.
Previous section 5 was just called 'illegal content' but is now called 'Illegal and Harmful Content'
They now state you should be aged 18 or over to access and use ebay. They also state AI and algorithms will help identify items that are illegal etc (previously it stated it would identify them so they've watered it down a bit)
Elsewhere the only other changes are tacking on the words harmful content after any mention of illegal content.

What are the odds items not picked up ? today ,,CS say once you press ,,book ,, its a royal mail problem ? and you contacted royal mail ! so i have re booked for tomorrow (ebay pays the 30p) and when i look again on get a label is says ,,Need courier collection?,, which goes when you book to the collection date so the only notice you get but not there when you look again ? all i got was simple delivery is working well only a few people having problems most are very happy and royal mails fault its not picked as all working ok ? its not simple delivery its just us few having issues ? so its just me and you then

@lucy_farmer working on it now but it does appear to be just some added language around how eBay supposedly keeps children safe from illegal and harmful content - likely just checking the box on compliance with the Online Safety Act.

You don't even need way back machine. They share the previous terms on the page.
Changes really are minimal. Nothing of concern.

@jonatjonatjonat agree wayback machine is not needed, though their difference checking feature can come in handy.
Users can easily see what's changed by using any difference checker though - and I highly recommend that over asking AI tools for summaries that may not always grasp the nuance of what has actually changed and how it will impact users.
Lots of different options, but I like this one - it's free and super easy to use, just copy and paste the old version of the text on one side of the screen, copy and paste the new version on the other side and click "find difference."

I tried chat gpt first. Completely failed so yes can second the value of diffchecker

I've stopped selling anything on here, I have switched to another completely free site (UK) and payment is via PayPal. Why not try that Yorkshire saying eBUYgumm lad.😉

I tried to register then PayPal wouldn’t let me out of the click on traffic lights and bikes loop
i gave up
strange that name sounds too much like eBay and gumtree lol

I booked a collection through Simple Delivery yesterday and the parcel is still here. I've now booked through the Royal Mail website and paid the 30p. I didn't take a screenshot of the page to prove I booked a collection, and I can't find anything that confirms it.

I’m with you . It seems to me now simple delivery means a seller has absolutely no control over the sale of there items . I changed it to only be Royal Mail yet eBay override this as I’m sure that with Evri it means a longer waiting time for the parcel to be delivered therefore a longer time to get paid while eBay hold the funds . EBay are failing whether you are a seller or a buyer .

Cant think of a single reason why eBay would override Royal Mail with evri
🤷🏼♀️
the reverse would be understandable ie due to location that evri doesn’t do

"Cant think of a single reason why eBay would override Royal Mail with evri"
At a guess, because ebay has agreed a target number of parcels per month/week with Evri and they need to meet the target. And they've already met RM's target because most people want to post using RM.
Or just because Evri is more profitable for ebay and they need to meet some internal target.
Cynical, moi?

It’s bound to be a reason like that imo too
EBay themselves don’t explain the actual reason
a lot of words yes but all meaningless in reality

What?!? Just to check, eBay ended up using Evri instead of Royal Mail even though you'd deselected Evri? I'd be quite livid about that - what a debacle.
