AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.

I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

I think the Thread is still very important,when I first found out about Simple Delivery,I searched YouTube and Googled the internet to see what people were saying, and I found there is very little out there where you can get a full understanding of the problems and experiences people are having with Simple Delivery, and this Thread has been the best source of information about it to me, and continues to be a source of information to me about Simple Delivery,and will also continue to have people coming to the Thread to post about their experiences about Simple Delivery 

To me, this Thread represents the true frustrations of Sellers and Buyers having to deal with Simple Delivery 

And I really cannot understand why a couple of people want it too end, just don't read it if it bothers you that much, shouldn't matter to anyone if the Thread is still active,I really can't see how it affects their life..... Personally I think those people are behaving in a very selfish way.....

I may be odd but (and i am retired and do not go out that much) when i pay for something to be delivered i want it delivered to MY HOME not some collection point.    Not everyone wants to be having to get the car out and travel a few miles to collect a bl...dy parcel!

I have put a few back on using the freight only option, see what happens then.  Must admit i am fed up of the whole thing at the moment.  I have been lazy and have still to list items on the other site, had a problem when i started and never got back the energy to have another go but will definitely do it this week.

What i don't get is although the thread has a lot of posts people do not need to read through all of them.

If they see someone's reply to a post all they need to do is click on the name of who was replied to and you can see the initial post.

That way it is so quick and more relevant to a particular person.

was going to say the same thing.  If people are still contributing then that is up to them not a select few with their own opinion - which is just that!

what does it matter, those of us who use it will always start towards the end, anyone knew may read some at the beginning, all of them or just the later ones.  It obviously is serving a purpose or we would all not be on here talking about it!  The question is why do a couple of you think that you should be able to dictate what should or should not stay by actually coming on here and commenting.  If you disapprove of it then just ignore it.

Maybe one day when and if common sense changes are implemented here then I'll consider selling again but until then I will not be giving any money to this platform as a seller.

What some people are saying about the Thread "Is anyone going to read it from the beginning".... doesn't matter....!! It's not about reading it from the beginning..... it's what the Thread represents that matters....!!! And it's constantly active,with people posting about Problems, Experiences,and the constant updates....noone else(especially eBay) is actually engaging in talking or listening to users.....!

then in that case there should be a cut off time for other threads.  How many times do you go on one to find that it was last responded to in 2023/4 and has no relevance to todays e bay but someone found it and commented on it.  I have actually done it myself because i did not look at the year just the topic!

and the funny thing is that new names do appear commenting so it is reaching others who are interested.

I'm the same regarding collection points etc.

I don't go out much either and miss having RM bringing a label and collecting items from my home.

Exactly.....and there is still alot of eBay users out there that aren't aware of Simple Delivery,and will end up here on this Thread, to find out and understand what is going on, and will no doubt be posting about their own experiences

I have also found that because so many people are invested in it that this is where they come to share new info on what is happening (and any new workarounds they have found).  As i understand it this is a discussion forum for sellers and what we are doing is discussing what is happening.

I think that what a few are trying to say is........when a thread gets as long as this one then valid things/concerns  often just get lost in a sea of partly irrelevant comments.   I do slightly agree with that.   Maybe several issues should not be combined in one megga thread but a new one opened for each aspect so the thread is easier to find and read and more specific to one problem.

I must admit when threads get really long..........i do tend to lose interest in them 😞    Prob my problem as my current attention span is that of a gnat!

I've done that myself on some threads. This thread is still very relevant compared to some threads in the forum.

that is up to the person to decide though, not you.    As i have said previously this is a discussion forum and is here for all of us to discuss the situation, not specifically to help with a specific problem (yes, is did use the word twice in one sentence because it is relevant).  No one has to read all the posts they can start at the beginning, in the middle or at the end.  The point is that it is up to them to decide not you or me.

A couple of days ago....the Thread went off topic for a few hours, someone posting stuff I wasn't interested in.....so, I spoke to an adult about it, and they advised me not to read the posts.....I took their advice,and within the next day or so, someone had posted something I was interested in.....! However at no point in time did I think, hmmmm ,I need to get this Thread ended because it's not enriching my wonderfully intelligent mind.... I really don't see what the problem is with the Thread....the nature of human debate is to go off Topic ...... If people are so distressed by this,then simply don't read it and start a Thread about something you want to talk about and rigidly police it..... But until then, leave us simple *bleep* to a Thread that we actually think is worthwhile....

You and i agree on most things BUT according  to the board rules one is not supposed to go off topic on a thread 😞    This often happens and threads are closed because of this so one has to be careful.

I totally agree with your post.

Most people will start with the most recent posts and then work back as far as they want.

As for those that think the thread should be closed or think nothing new is posted then they have the options of unsubscribing or creating a thread of their own.
