I have clicked reply on your post, but this reply is also for @rugbyguy1960 and some of the points may relate only to him.
Although I post from a business account, I do also have a private account, as most of the small-time business account holders who post here, will. To remain consistent, I post only from the one, similar to the many obvious "posting accounts" which contribute - you have no way of knowing whether their active account is private or business, so that particular criticism is totally unfounded.
I have consistently said that there is a lot of great stuff in this thread, and I know there's a hard core of disrupters who post on here (I can't call their posts "contributions", as they contribute nothing), and I expected a particular few to jump in on my comments, in their usual uncivil manner. I wasn't surprised that they did.
If I have a particular problem with SD, say large letters that weigh only 90g, how on earth do I find a relevant answer in this ridiculously bloated thread? I know the answer is in there, but there is no practical way of finding it. If there was a shorter thread with a relevant title, I could find my answer in seconds. (That's only an example - the answer may have been posted elsewhere, but it certainly isn't easily accessible here)
And, be honest, the quality of the majority of the posts (note, I did not say ALL), has declined enormously since it became little more than a place for the disrupters to gather and rub each other's tummies.
Where are the sensible, helpful comments from the pro-mentors, the mentors, and the other respected and helpful posters? Nowhere. They've largely abandoned the thread as they see the futility of constantly explaining themselves over and over again to a coterie of contrary individuals who have no intention of taking any notice, and who are only concerned with continuing their senseless, groundless, illogical, and often totally convoluted attacks on eBay. (again, not ALL posters fit this description, but very many do.)
eBay can comfortably ignore this thread. They will have had a look at it from time to time, and decided that it's full of nonsense being posted by generally unreliable posters, and they'll be delighted that all that nonsense is contained in one place. The good and relevant content is lost in among all the dross.
I know mods intervened over the weekend, removing some posts from a particularly unhinged poster. That doesn't mean they are closely monitoring the thread (look how much they have let pass) - it could have been a reaction to a complaint, or he could have used a word which triggers investigation. The thread, as it is, serves eBay well. Whoever is responsible for the forums can go into his department meeting, and honestly state that there have been fewer threads than they expected regarding genuine concerns with SD. You're playing into their hands.
I really can't see how anyone can honestly claim that this thread NOW serves any purpose. If all you want is somewhere to grumble, carry on, but you will achieve absolutely nothing.
