NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.

I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

It all reverts back to trying to fix things that weren't broken is not a good idea.

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

It is just a mess and a nightmare.

And to rub salt into the wound it's now going to be the 20th May onwards before these latest changes are in place

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

I don't understand it. I only sell a few things here and there, to clear out stuff.

I won't be listing them now.

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

Well I don't intend on selling things for the foreseeable future. I'm in no hurry to sell at present. I think I'll leave the selling for elswhere.

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

I only sold items from my personal collection to make room for new ones.

So all of this is just a total mess on a large scale.

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

Historically, eBay was built on the backs of small private sellers like ourselves.

It seems to me that we (the sellers) made eBay, just to be thrown to the kerb when not needed anymore.

Is this really the way to reward customer loyalty?

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

Loyalty obviously counts for nothing judging by how private sellers are now treated.

We might not be what is wanted now but hopefully in the not to distant future we'll be the ones that were needed.

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

Just caught up on the most recent posts regarding this continuous farce and while eBay seemed to have somewhat softened their approach regarding the sizing and pricing of parcels the long and the short of it is we still have to use simple delivery when all we want is to go back to custom postage.

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

maybe because so many of us do not have your experience of EVRI?   Our local courier is allowed to decide whether he will be bothered to deliver or not and if you happen to live off the main roads or in an awkward position the answer is he will not!   We never buy from anyone using EVRI because we know it will not get here and you may ask how we know if they do not deliver, answer would be because too many sellers state one method of delivery and then send EVRI because it is cheaper.   Complaining (when you can get anyone from EVRI to actually respond) is pointless because you only get flim flam as an answer.

For me when buying the unsafe places is so frustrating.

Evri basically dump and run.

There is no shortage of safe spaces around my property that are not visible from the road. RM seem to find them. I don't want an item sitting on my drive all day incase it gets stolen so on higher value items I have to drive home from work using  my lunchbreak to take the item in. That's wasted a load of time, petrol and car wear just because the Evri person saved a few seconds.

The problem is if an item is stolen after delivery then Ebay/Evri would say that's the buyer's problem even though it was them that conspired to deliver a service that was likely to not bother finding a safe space.

Then to add insult the email from Evri reassuringly says they put it in a safe place with a stock photo of a driver doing that when my driver clearly hasn't bothered at all.

RM workers are not exploited, are given a sensible workload that gives them time to do it properly. That's the kind of business we should be supporting if we want this country to be a good place to live in.

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

I think the CEO is so out of touch with the real world it would not be wrong to say perhaps the CEO needs an account on ebay to sell using SD and BP and Evri collection. CEO is clueless!

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

I think you will find that Royal Mail are now charging 30p to collect each item. I found out the other day when buying online. Mentioned to our excellent postie man when he collected and he ignored my comment - so unlike him that I suspect that he was hugely embarrassed.

That added 90p to my costs. I know I can walk to the post office or collection point and used to do all the time until the local PO went *bleep* up and I could no longer suffer their incompetence, but my postie said the collections were a good lifeline for his job security.

The timing seems too much of a coincidence that I suspect it must be a result of the ebay 'deal' and trying to recoup their losses.

So you now have to pay to get your 'free' listings seen by anyone (on item sold), pay for packing (as I have always added in the actual cost of the quality envelopes and packing materials (unless recycled boxes for parcels), and pay for collections (from the ebag SD labels). Too many extra costs.

Ebag in the meantime are cashing it in with BPT, Promoted listings, SD dodgy deals etc. They are taking their users for idiots.

I redid my Ebid account when this latest farce started but held off using as my sales on ebay suddenly picked up (this coincided with the ending of their promoted listings promotion which surprisingly started when my sales dropped to zero). However it is available and ready for 20th May. ENOUGH OF THESE STUPID EBAY GAMES

Re: NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

Yes it is completely ridiculous.   They paid someone to rake a simple process and make it ridiculously confusing.   I tried explaining how I thought it worked to.my mother last weekend.  But after an additional week,  the process just offers me ever more confusion.  Complete rubbish.
