AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.

I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

click on postage, then collection only and then back to postage and primary delivery will show up  and there you go!!

So true. I did notice no mention of large or small letters.

It's so annoying that they are trying to take the credit for amending the mistakes they made in the first place and to then have the audacity to say we are listening.

 Wow , I saw this message drop into my mail box and then you see the flood of posts etc from people on this board.

Too little too late and  it underlines why objections where raised to SD in the 1st place and should not have been ignored  by the likes of Mss Williams

I would suggest everyone forwards that mail with their comments to eve.williams@ebay.com  and anyone else who might be interested .

feedback percentage is pretty much a joke, i have had two negs over the last 12 months and 93 positives and my feedback % is 97.8.   People usually just look at the percentage and not the actual reasons given or the response by the seller.   It does make a difference which is why i never go on percentages myself when buying.

You've had an email?  I wonder why I haven't had one.  Although most of my listings are taken down, I've left up one of them which will go in a Letter size envelope and is exempt from SD, so I'm still classed as a seller.

The one I'll be joining reminds me of how this used to be and with more people joining and listing items and with more categories being created it will be like turning back the clock.

And it's not as if one can just click a link and find an answer cos as we know, 'answers' are often not there to start with, and if they are, often contradictory or just don't make sense.

And then it all changes the next day.

I'm glad I finished all my listings. I think if I'd stayed I'd have either pulled all my hair out or had a nervous breakdown!

And, when you look at the new postal rates that are applicable from 20th May it would appear that we need to add some 'bricks' to our Royal Mail parcels!

If Royal Mail only is selected then, for a 0 to 1kg Small Parcel, the postage is £3.64 BUT, for a 1kg to 2kg Small Parcel the postage is £3.38.

So, add some weight to your box to take it over the 1kg mark and save 26p on postage!!

THIS new parcel size is more to do with them realising medium parcel price is priced to cheap (same as RM standard small parcel) and amending it is not for our benefit ,if this was the case letters and large letters would have been done first

I was so surprised to get the Dear John email as well as the message.

All the changes that are happening on the 20th May to supposedly benefit sellers.

The only thing missing was how they intend to get more buyers to start buying again as my sales before my listings were ended had dropped through the floor.

Yes, the eBay emails came out this morning, with then trying to say how they’re listened to f/b and they’re making Simply Stupid Delivery even better. Utter *bleep*! If they listened to everyone they would scrap it, or at the very least make it optional. I’m sure that is what will eventually happen once they tried everything else. I will responding to my emails saying what I think, and sending them to eve.williams@ebay.com

I'm fed up with this too. I'm going to sell a lot less on eBay and mat eventually pull out completely. Simple delivery has been the last straw. I particularly hate that if you override it on a listing, eBay reinstate it when you relist. Idiotic.

It's good that ebay do seem to be listening to the feedback regarding simple delivery and hopefully they'll continue to do so.

On the other hand I don't think there have been any changes to the way the buyer protection fee have been implemented have there? I would love to see more transparency with the fee breakdown on search results / item pages and tools for sellers to translate between price including / excluding BPF on the listing creation page and in the messaging system (to translate when buyers send you offers via message for example).

With two such big changes so close together it must be quite hard to disentangle the impacts that they're having on sales.

So true. I've not actually read or heard one thing yet to actually even get me to think about relisting any items.

So I'm just waiting to see how the even more changes on the 20th May will unfold.

I'm not surprised to hear about 30% e t s y fees. I tried listing something there after I decided to stop selling on ebay, only to find out they charge something like 15% seller's fees (which is ok) but then they might charge extra 15% if a buyer reaches your e t s y listing through a search engine, like google. Basically, e t s y charge extra for ''advertising'' seller's items, which is complete rubbish because this way you've no idea how much you end up paying in fees before you make a sale, and if you do pay maximum it gets too much. This will change how I would buy something there if I found it on google. Just go direct on e t s y and search there, save the seller from getting double charged.

Many thanks to some of you mentioning here that e t s y is actually part of ebay. I am not getting involved with that lot then 🙂 I'm surprised ebay are not adding extra 15% charge for advertising their listing on google!

It's only taken since the 31st March and after thousands of posts in the forums for them to finally say "we are listening".

It's a small start but I'm not expecting to see any concessions that will really make any difference.
