AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.
I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

It's not just a euphemism or ambiguity it's the worst form of double-speak where meaning gets inverted. Ebay are guilty of some Orwellian linguistic crimes here so I wonder if anyone has reported them to the Plain English Campaign yet?

However because of the appalling way Ebay have handled this and ridden rough shot over its loyal customers . I will tell them exactly the opposite
Yeah same here I've been encouraging people to use ebay for decades but now I would suggest another place except most of the people I know are more likely to be using that place already and I'm a late adopter - it's me finally listening to them that the other place is highly recommended.

EBay don’t know who they are and don’t give a stuff anyway lol
i mean if politicians operate the same way and can get away with it day in day out why can’t they
they’re all in it together
let’s see how that goes though

Loads of feeBay “it’s free to sell” adverts everywhere at the moment……I wonder why?

I think most politicians would have gone a charm offensive as soon as this post started . Some politicians might be very slippery but none are as stupid as Ebay *
Ebay are just talking down at people it just contemptuous
* Does not include the current leader of the USA

Desperation I would think.

Maybe they are trying to maximise the number of people who complain to the ASA that such adverts should be visibly caveated "you are required to sell for lower than the true value due to the layers of ebay charges" 🙂
But seriously in recent months the buyers seem to have moved to the place ebay are badly copying so this place is not short of sellers they need buyers but maybe they don't have those adverts prepared yet?
My main problem with selling at the other place (which I only started a few weeks ago due to SD) is keeping up with the demand as I'm down to only 3 active listings there now stuff has been selling so well even stuff that has been stagnating here for a long time with no interest whatsoever using the same photos.
Ebay might have thought they got away with the upset of implementing the buyer tax but it's driven buyers away. Sure the other place has a buyer tax and managed delivery but for various reasons they are overall much better value for money so people are OK with it. What ebay are doing with buyer tax and delivery is not the same it's significantly less attractive so it's not going to work for them.

So I'm wondering, if the correct weight has to be on there - the options Up to 1kg and Up to 2kg are both £3.44 with just RM, do I have to weigh everything to be accurate or if I adjust if necessary to the 2kg option, that'll do, assuming it's just small parcel (which was always up to 2kg) even though the measurements are for a medium parcel. Clear as mud.......??

I completely with you on this . Simple delivery is awful and has taken choice away from the seller. The price doesn’t match Royal Mail for example and I too and considering not using eBay going forward.

I don't have SD at the moment but, when I relist a couple of items at the same time, I scroll across to the right and where it says 'Postage Details' instead of the p&p that I am asking for, it states 'Free for buyers + additional services'. Any idea what thats about?
I then cancel and list them individually.

I’ve a couple of private accounts, and nearly everyday fleecebay are sending emails trying to get me to promote listings. Desperation I think! They must be seeing the fall off in sales and hence profits. They only have themselves to blame. Only 3 days until mandatory Seriously Stupid Delivery, we will see what happens then! Hopefully, management sackings for creating such an unbelievable mess of everything!

I'm still taking a trickly of ebay orders and checking daily ready to put my account on a month's holiday once I see SD has been applied to my listings against my wishes.
There's quite a number more of my existing ebay listings that I expect to sell well at the other place it just takes time to relist but at least I can reuse the photos and they don't ask excessive item specifics. Once I have moved them I will just leave the collection-only and those where there isn't a category/audience at the other place here.
I've got a plan, it will work so I've gone from feeling a victim of ebay changes to just feeling pity for them.

Reseller George had a YouTube about how his views droped98%. Feebay were wanting him to pay more

I've not had a single email message from eBay encouraging me to list, relist or promote, or indeed ask why I have stopped listing and selling. Clearly the 50 items I sold between 1st January and 27th March, comprising collectables, clothing, DVDs, jewellery, maps and other assorted items I'm moving on count for nothing, nor the value totalling £653. I know where I'm not wanted, after 24 years and nearly 6000 feedbacks.

I don't think anybody realises what a furore is going to be hitting the fan in 7 - 10 days time.
I went to relist a couple of items by bulk edit. When I scrolled to the right, under the 'Postage Details' section, instead of saying how much I was charging for p&p, it said 'Free for buyers + additional services'. Now I never listed my two items as free.
So soon SD sellers will be paying themselves for p&p not the buyers.
I could stop that by cancelling the bulk edit and just list them individually. But if I had not of noticed...

Click on simple delivery, click on 1k weight. scroll down to 20k there is custom post tab which leads to Royal mail as it used to be, Hope that helps

Out of interest, anyone know where have all the buyers gone?
I, like many on this thread, want to leave the platform as the "no fee" system has meant all my prices look unappealing and confusing (not to mention more expensive than business sellers) and my sales have dropped off a cliff...
Now "simple delivery" has kicked in, it's a nightmare as it totally derails how I usually post things (plus it means my postage rates are even less competitive! But y'know, 20 years of using Royal Mail has meant I have a 100% perfect feedback rating and no lost packages... I'm not about to switch now to the notoriously bad Evri).
But I want to go where the buyers have gone. I'm hoping it's not Am*z*n because that's even more of a nightmare... is there not just, like, a nice, simple site like how eBay used to be? Recommendations welcome, as this is pretty much unusable now.
