NO LONGER SELLING DUE TO SIMPLE DELIVERY

AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.

I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

In the last few days I have noticed a lot of new names on here ,customer service or ireland are going to be very busy tomorrow from those still on the sinking ship

It's really reassuring to see new names posting and to see the high amount of views its had.

The simple delivery scenario that has been posted several times already is - an item sells and either the buyer or seller is forced to buy the postage label from ebay.

The postage label is wrong/weight not enough and the seller ends up buying a 2nd postage label out of their selling funds for the item.

It's this scenario that bothers me the most as if the label is wrong I won't want to take it to the post office as even if they accept over the counter someone along the packages journey may reject it.  This happened to a seller who had used simple delivery and the buyer was charged a fee to receive the package.

Likewise , removing seller fees was very odd thing to do at the time  and costly for Ebay as they went 4 months without getting any revenue from sales. They may have been getting some money from their own side hustles like processing payments and interest on that money etc . 

But unless you use  a notice board in you local supermarket it simply can never be free to sell

I'm surprised there hasn't been a recent reminder / flag waiver to be ready for it in the announcements for such a major policy change

I'm leaving my listings on overnight but will scrutinise them carefully in the morning for evidence they have been violated and simple delivery forced onto them.

I honestly don't blame you for scrutinising them. I think you and a fair few others will be doing that. I've run out of my daily kudos allowance again lol.

Can you point us to where this incident is more fully described as it is the first time I have come across this happening, rather a hypothetical could happen. It would go against the main advantage of using Simple Delivery so would totally alter my decision that Simple Delivery looks good for me.

Because already many have taken their listings off and probably given up i'm here just to see what happens. Took mine off weeks ago hoping that things would change but it seems not

Thanks - I think I might have seen it to. Turned out the lister was talking about something that happened in pre Simple Delivery days, and had no real relevance, and were using it incorrectly to illustrate a possible could happen problem with Simple Delivery
