AS OF 15TH APRIL MY DAYS AS A PRIVATE EBAY SELLER WILL STOP AFTER 19 YEARS.
I AM FED UP OF THE GREED OF EBAY AND I HOPE OTHER EBAY SELLERS DECIDE TO NO LONGER LET THE EBAY CONTROL FREAKS HAVE THIS MUCH CONTROL OVER PRIVATE SELLERS.

Could you not email the qr code or label to your neighbour if they have a smart phone or printer
They might be alright with that too or maybe not if you have a lot of parcels
ebay have said collection by royal Mail from home with the postman bringing the label is something they hope to have soon
good luck in whatever you do, maybe you can have a look at ebid or other sites that still allow people freedom
ebay have zero appreciation for long standing customers and / or the elderly or disabled
apart from when you speak to customer services the first thing the day is thank you for being a loyal ebayer for x amount of years and how is your day going so far lol

Hahahahahaha, they always play the loyalty card first, it’s hilarious, and said with such sincerity too, NOT

I could now only say not for much longer and say it's going ok not that I hardly use the site anymore.

I sell my own items & my late mothers Jigsaw puzzles and bits from their home & mine. I pack them up and my neighbour takes them to the Post office for me. they weigh and label them either by standard delivery or by Royal Mail signed delivery for the better items.
Them my neighbour brings the receipts for me and I add the Tracking & proof of postage etc.
Thank you for sharing it's simply awful how inconsiderate they are being with SD.

Just like everything else they come out with including the latest change announcements.

None of the items on the non-compensation are currently excluded from eBay's protection though, only items that are actually prohibited (those that can't be carried under any circumstances) or restricted in some way (those that can only be carried under certain conditions).

we too don't have smart phones or printers so bye bye to ebay too .My partner has been on ebay since 1998 and me since 2011 . Ebay have put in a thread that they will give people without smart phones or printers a 6 number code to use for EVRI ,but not everyone has an evri parcel /drop off shop near to them so this option is not ideal . We have been perfectly happy taking our parcels to the post office and paying there ,but now the post office have started to reject parcels because the wrong postage is on them with SD . So people have try and sort it out ,what a hassle and embarrassment this has been very poorly thought out, they have tried to copy vinted but vinted had simple delivery in place from the get go ,but with them if you refuse a courier that the buyer has chosen then vinted cancel the order and charge you for the label .Vinted is expanding and allowing more things to be sold now not just clothing but people have told me that use it that sales are quite slow but with this debarcle on ebay things may change on vinted ,but the SD label on Vinted is no good to us and we don't want to be forced to find a shop for the courier that the buyer wants you to use .

It feels wrong to give a Thumbs Up when people keep coming onto this thread to share their sad or angry story and declare they are leaving but hope they know its in support/solidarity of their position. At this rate Ebay UK might want to consider starting to brief a liquidator and putting a retainer on key personnel required for an orderly wind up the operation.

I don't even feel sorry now. I've got my common sense back and had my reality check and now am just left with anger lol.

And hopefully united they'll fall 😂.

Vinted sales have been slow this year but normally are v good or a constant trickle let’s say
re the labels, it’s up to you to set your postage preferences
the buyers can only chose whatever courier you are happy to use
they can never use one you haven’t set

Just saw this platform. I will probably get another ban for this.
whatnot
06-04-2025 9:45 PM
That in itself is a huge plus compared to here.

Iv unlisted all my items and been looking at V**ted but just seen this
"When uploading a listing, the most suitable parcel size might be automatically selected. This is part of a new feature we’re developing to help you send items!"........... Sounds familiar eh.

Maybe they've got shares in this platform.
06-04-2025 9:48 PM
It isn't 20% cheaper, total rubbish and a con!
06-04-2025 9:48 PM
Just made a note of it in case it's removed. Thank you.
06-04-2025 9:54 PM
I'm convinced their greed will destroy them, its totally out of control.

Whatnot is a live auction site though so a completely different format/way of selling.

With a slight change of song title "We're Walking In Sunshine" would be a great Anthem 😂.
