What an absolute ridiculous amount of nonsense, eBay have created on the saga of printed labels for despatching of sold parcels and packages. Don’t get me started by mentioning Large Letters please.
Post Office outlets refusing to accept underweight labelled items and they have not been informed anything about what eBay has told us, that they have to take all labelled items.
If the Postal Office staff were to take these parcels etc the outlet would be handed a fine at the end of each day as their balancing up would not be correct.
As mentioned before in these community postings, eBay leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to communication …
a) their staff at the customer service offices give you conflicting answers or state they will forward details to tech support.
b) no definitive information regarding despatching of Royal Mail Letter and Large Letter being excluded from Special Delivery.
Why can’t a 250g Large Letter be excluded from Special Delivery ?
c) eBay say they have an agreement in place with Royal Mail / Post Office. It would appear they probably assume that but Post Office Counters beggar different.
The eBay fiasco experienced of BPF, SD etc by sellers and buyers over the past 9/12 months should never of been allowed to happened.
What does senior eBay personnel have to say about this.
Any other large organisation would have a shake of mid-management by now

My return was purely to show to you that the post office accepted it was their responsibility.
It was intended to help, not to stir up more nonsensical eBay-blaming.
I've always said I'm not a big fan of their recent changes. However, I still fail to understand how some people can continue to blame eBay for one particular aspect of this, when the real culprit has already admitted responsibility.
"This is still a problem CAUSED BY eBAY AND THEIR SD INTRODUCTION." - is like saying it's Henry Ford's fault if you get knocked down on the way to work. He may have been responsible for developing the idea of the mass-produced car, but the failure which caused you to be knocked down was not his.

I don't think that's a correct analogy. It's more like hospitals letting NHS doctors treat patients without having the appropriate paperwork to prove their qualification. The system is that Universities give medical graduates a degree certificate and the hospital accepts that as proof of a certain amount of medical knowlege. In the current context, ebay seems to be *assuming* that everybody has the right knowledge.

To be quite frank, I couldn't give a flying fig about what you think now.

I would urge both of you to cease this. It is verging on bullying.
You both know perfectly well the point I am trying to make.

It's a shame that you don't seem to be able to allow other people to express contrary views without resorting to insults and accusations. The very definition of a forum is a "medium where ideas and views on a particular issue can be exchanged". Which is what I've done, but it does seem to have got under your skin. I'm not sure what else you expect from a forum if not listening to other people's views and discussing/debating them.

I have been careful NOT to insult you personally, and I have not done so. I have confined my comments to your opinions, which, in your own words, I am entirely entitled to disagree with.

Many, many people come to a forum, such as this, with a certain point of view.
Few, if any, leave with a different one.

I did - it shows after "in response to"

I suspect you're probably right. But the point is, that we're here to discuss/debate, and we might learn something even if we don't agree with it.

In any face-to-face discussion, your God gave you two ears and only one mouth - which should be used in such proportion.
On any forum, such as this, substitute these for eyes and lots of fingers.
Here, eyes and fingers are seldom used at all.

E Bay could not even explain their system correctly to their own sellers so the post office counter staff would have had no chance! How many people selling on here are still completely unaware of SD???
16-04-2025 10:52 AM
but to be fair you could just ignore their comments, you do not have to respond - is that not what 'bullies' want? I believe you also called anyone disagreeing with you childish which i am sure would not have gone down well. I actually usually agree with most of your comments and you do have a point to a degree. However, at the end of the day e bay should have ensured that the whole system was up and running in an organised fashion before it became mandatory. These problems must have been ongoing since SD started months back so why was nothing flagged up with the PO?

Unless i am going crackers that is what they did, the comment was posted 'in response to' moonlight rhapsody not you

Typical, I knew someone would pick up on that. 😊
I was going to include agnostics as well but I was too late to go back and edit the post.
