I WAS TOLD I HAVE TO WAIT FOR 40 DAYS FOR MY PAYMENT FROM A BUYER

I post an item to a seller last Saturday 8th February the tracking never was scanned the buyer had the goods on the 13th February I asked to leave feedback to say have item. I waited for ebay to call me. I had a call from a guy in Germany, so he had no idea about how Royal Mail works, he did not listen to me and told me feedback does not matter I wont get paid for 40 days, I ended up so angry with his comments that he then put the phone down on me. The buyer has the goods but as Royal mail did not scanned the signed for I have to wait for 40 days, this is extremely poor service by also people from ebay who have no idea how the post works here in the UK

That’s just the way it is now.
Tracking number not scanned = 14 day wait for payment.

You could claim back the cost of the postage from Royal Mail as you paid for a fully tracked service and didn’t receive it.

Look on the bright side, the buyer could have claimed that they didn’t receive it.

You would be better off using Tracked 48 than Signed For. It is cheaper (except for letters), offers a higher insurance ceiling and I’ve found that missed scans happen a lot less.

Re: I WAS TOLD I HAVE TO WAIT FOR 40 DAYS FOR MY PAYMENT FROM A BUYER

I have obviously been stung by this same madness and not impressed.

I have one item on auction, after that ends, then I would just put my account on holiday while I make a decision to close it. I did try closing my account and got the message "eBay is monitoring potential changes to tariffs and will update the eBay community as additional information becomes available."

It appears unless you use tracking, you would wait a lifetime to be paid and then even still it must be delivered before you get any payment if tracked. I currently have 3 items well over a week sold and posted and still not paid as the majority of my buyers used second class.

This is just an attempt by ebay to bully private sellers as they would have to sell items lower due to buyer protection fees then also send everything tracked which would also up the price to the buyer. So even if you sell an item for £1 and then with it being tracked add £2.55 second class and then buyer protection fee of 75p would make it around nearly £5 all in for an item costing £1, would drive the majority of private sellers away.

Re: I WAS TOLD I HAVE TO WAIT FOR 40 DAYS FOR MY PAYMENT FROM A BUYER

I think that why people are using VINTED, they are not being treated like this. You list a product, you sell the product the money is the sellers not Ebay to keep and decide you cannot have it even I have proof by the feedback they have the item. The worse is I delivered one of my sold items to their door, and that's were I was told I have to wait 40 days, but when I called ebay again after that man who had very poor communication skills and should not be working on the telephone in the first place, now they say I have to wait for 30days.

So if you are selling over Christmas 2025 and your items are not scanned by the Royal Mail because the items are put in the door or left, it may take months to get your money from Ebay, Nobody cares and nobody helps you just look after themselves, I have had an account for 21 years and I dont know who they are employing to make these negative rules but they need to wake up.

So everyone out their who has their parcels stolen by Evri, I dont think you will get your money.

Re: I WAS TOLD I HAVE TO WAIT FOR 40 DAYS FOR MY PAYMENT FROM A BUYER

Sellers just need to make sure they have the right insurance for loss. The way I look at it, if I’m covered yes it’s a hassle but ‘insert any courier you like’ can steal all the parcels they like. I can only speak for myself, it’s very rare to have a parcel disappear but Royal Mail are a far bigger risk for missing delivery scans than Evri are.

Re: I WAS TOLD I HAVE TO WAIT FOR 40 DAYS FOR MY PAYMENT FROM A BUYER

Dont use EVRI have stolen my parcels and they resell in auctions.

The fact of the matter I sent my parcel by 2nd class signed for, and the whole journey was not scanned. So if you sell something its not scanned I was firstly told that I would need to wait for 40 days by this guy in Germany, the truth of the matter when I called again as he put the phone down on me, its 30 days, 1 month keeping my money, is that right NO.

Evri you can see them selling items online, also it was a big issues about this on the TV and LBC radio. The matter is out there and nobody has shut this company down.

Re: I WAS TOLD I HAVE TO WAIT FOR 40 DAYS FOR MY PAYMENT FROM A BUYER

The issue I had tracking on my item it was sent 2nd class signed for last Saturday and it was never scanned through the journey. I have been left feedback showing this but according to Ebay that means nothing. It wont be accepted they have my good, but ebay can keep my money.

The other item I delivered personally, and that the one I was told 40 days for payment now its 30 days.

Items for even £1 I sent with tracking because I was told many years ago it Ebay will not pay out if you have no tracking now its if the person had my goods which they have and have left me feedback confirming this the feedback does not mean anything I was told by the second person I called from Ebay.

I am not allowed to be paid as Royal Mail forgot to scan this item. I have a receipt a photo of the Post Office, and next they will ask for a picture of the colleague at the counter.

Dont worry I am calling Royal Mail and telling them whats happening with these no scanned items.

Re: I WAS TOLD I HAVE TO WAIT FOR 40 DAYS FOR MY PAYMENT FROM A BUYER

I have been told the name of an auction house who sell undeliverable Royal Mail parcels the same way. I don’t intend to go and buy any but I believe the person who told me so Evri don’t seem to be unique in that.

I understand your frustration with Royal Mail but unless you just want to get it off your chest you’d be wasting

your time ringing them about the failed delivery scans. I am a fan of Royal Mail I prefer to use them but Evri miss less scans because if their courier don’t scan they don’t get paid.

Re: I WAS TOLD I HAVE TO WAIT FOR 40 DAYS FOR MY PAYMENT FROM A BUYER

My account has never been dormant and all items are sent by 1st or 2nd class signed for. Sometimes I have used tracked 24 and 48, but I have had to pay the extra as buyers refuse to pay anything extra.

I always have a tracking number on items even if they are only a £1.

I have spoken to them in Ireland before, its the ones in Europe and the Asia they dont understand and telling me the laws in the UK which are not correct.

I spoke to a guy in Germany who was had very bad communication skills, he would not listen to me when I said the item posted last Saturday was never scanned by Royal Mail and the buyer has the goods, he put the phone down on me, argued with me as he did not know how things work in the UK had no clue and was out of order, saying his terminating the call. Its not the first time I have been treated like this from ebay and many times I have been treated very badly by them, they are not trained and dont tell you the correct answers, and make the seller out to be the criminal in all of this.

Re: I WAS TOLD I HAVE TO WAIT FOR 40 DAYS FOR MY PAYMENT FROM A BUYER

@b1tsandb0bs this is my last comment as it is frustrating reading some of your replies here and the other threads you are posting on. You can make your eBay buying and selling a lot easier for yourself by reading the eBay Money Back Guarantee, stop using Signed For and switch to Tracked 24 or 48, read the Royal Mail our prices list. If eBay customer services aren’t helping then read the T&C’s that you are interested in yourself. Their customer service advisors sometimes get confused as they take calls from different parts of the world and eBay T&C’s are different in different countries.

Re: I WAS TOLD I HAVE TO WAIT FOR 40 DAYS FOR MY PAYMENT FROM A BUYER

I have also used tracked 24 and 48 and these have not been scanned either. Its not my fault at all the way I have been treated. I am out of pocket and told now I have to wait for 30 days for my money to be given to me which is not Ebays money. The seller has the goods and I have nothing.  I just will never use Evri after they have stolen a number of my parcels. Yes customer services dont help as they do not have a clue about the UK especially spoken to that guy in Germany yesterday.

Re: I WAS TOLD I HAVE TO WAIT FOR 40 DAYS FOR MY PAYMENT FROM A BUYER

Hi Thanks for coming back to me today 18th February,.

its not ever going to be resolved. I had sent my item by Royal Mail signed for, the buyer has the goods but ebay are not paying me as the tracking is still in the Post Office and the Customers Services told me I will have to wait for 30 days, to prove I am not making this up, when I have feedback.

Not two days after delivery or 14 days its 30days, and I can name the agent to gave me all this misleading disinformation that has created all these negative information against me.  Another I had delivered, but at the moment they will not pay me for that one at all as I have no tracking number, I have photographic evidence this was delivered and feedback.  None of the others that have been delivered have ever paid me back in 2 days after delivery, and some are still pending even though delivery had been on the tracking.

I have not had anything paid back in 2 days after delivery, that why people on this site are shouting me down.

I always send with a tracking number. I have never ever sent anything with a proof of postage, this is not a trackable service and will not be tracked by any Postman as you keep the receipt yourself that was the original rules given to me through Ebay only pay using a trackable service, which I have done.

Even with the tracking saying arrived, I am still not being paid out at all now. No reason for any of my buyers to open a case as they all have the goods.

I am not a new seller I have had an account for 21 years with no negative feedbacks, so my account is running perfectly well, until I am not believed anymore, and  now reporting me to authorities.

Re: I WAS TOLD I HAVE TO WAIT FOR 40 DAYS FOR MY PAYMENT FROM A BUYER

How many times!

The new payment hold scheme has a maximum payout time of 14 days.

The original payment hold scheme for new or infrequent sellers, can be 30 days.

Whatever the reason for your holds, you will get paid.

Re: I WAS TOLD I HAVE TO WAIT FOR 40 DAYS FOR MY PAYMENT FROM A BUYER

You should realise by now that IF you were actually told this by customer services, then you were given wrong information, possibly unintentionally. The actual timescales have been laid out to you multiple times in multiple threads.

I tend to judge posters by everything they say, not just individual statements. So I was more inclined to side with you when you stated you had no negatives in 21 years. That would be really impressive, if it were true, but it's not. While still an excellent performance, you have had two negatives (no, I didn't trawl through all your feedback; there is an affiliate site which publishes overall feedback totals.).

I'm sure you think your little white lie strengthens your position, but I see it as the opposite.

Re: I WAS TOLD I HAVE TO WAIT FOR 40 DAYS FOR MY PAYMENT FROM A BUYER

I am not telling any one any lies, you are trying to twist anything I have said.  Yes I was told this by customers services and I have told the truth.

Then Customer Services needs to be called out for misinformation, and telling things that are not fact then.  Not me, if they are telling me this information where are they getting this from. I dont make things I life is to short for all this nonsense. Yes 30 days, not 14 or 2 or whatever, and until I see I get paid within the time others are saying I cannot comment on this, I can only comment on the facts that are surrounding me.

I cannot agree with what has happened to others with payment because it has never happened to me. Mine are still pending, and this is going on too long.

why would I lie about negatives because I dont have any, just making on things to satisfy your own mind is so so ridiculous.  I dont need anything to strengthen my position, from you this statement is outrageous, and not called for. I have just stated what is going on with my account, but you want to twist it just to voice you opinions.  Well what every you like to say, I am not in agreement.

Nobody said you were a business, the thread is about scanning of deliveries and the only way past it is to be a business as they will get paid without a scan. The moment someone pays the money to a business the fund are availed for withdrawal, Cashflow.

2 negs, as I said. Picclick is great. Shows you a bit more about sellers than eBay does.

Gotta love it.

Re: I WAS TOLD I HAVE TO WAIT FOR 40 DAYS FOR MY PAYMENT FROM A BUYER

'Yes I was told this by customers services and I have told the truth.'

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nobody disputes that is what you were told by CS.

But CS often tell lies. (yes I know it's hard to believe that representatives of a Global Business tell lies , but it's true...)

And you say you're NOT a business. OK, fine.....

But you do look a bit like a business, and ebay might just have decided that 'if it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck' they will treat it like a 'duck'....(ie an unregistered business) which may be why your money *could* be on a long hold.

If you really are a compulsive, impulse shopper trying to get rid of tons of brand new unwanted stuff, yes this is unfair. But that's the way the cookie has crumbled.

Re: I WAS TOLD I HAVE TO WAIT FOR 40 DAYS FOR MY PAYMENT FROM A BUYER

whatever your name is this week, I dont know what you are achieving by publishing something which is not true and I know its not true, and perhaps you would like me to publish your accounts for everyone to see. You are not professional at all, and I can see this.  Also your own negatives and there are many of those.

You are supposed to be a guide but instead you are creating hatred towards everyone on these threads.

All I gave was what happened to me. If you dont like what I had been told and now others have been given the same 30 days, I suggest you get back to selling your items and leave everyone alone.
