OK so listing some items tonight
good news first - even though Simple Delivery is now being pushed I can opt out to custom settings and select my standard shipping rates
bad news - I have to opt out of Simple Delivery every time I list even though I am listing similar items. Really?
This is from ebay itself: You can opt out of Simple Delivery when you're creating your listing by selecting Custom Postage from the delivery options. If you'd prefer not to use Simple Delivery at all in the future, you'll need to opt out each time this programme is recommended when you're creating listings.
I mean what does that last sentence mean anyway?
Solved! Go to Solution.

For some reason after multiple listings it has stopped and I no longer have to opt out whilst listing
maybe this is what ebay means by ' If you'd prefer not to use Simple Delivery at all in the future, you'll need to opt out each time this programme is recommended when you're creating listings.' i.e if you insist after 15 times we will shut up about it for now lol

There is no complete opt out of simple delivery, you can opt out of either Royal Mail or Evri but not both unless you select custom postage when you are listing and this has to be done on each listing as you have found out, very time consuming if you have a few items to list

I wonder if what zax is driving at is: 'preferring not to use Simple Delivery at all in the future....'.
As opposed to Simple Del. being compulsory in the future. ?
Which is what we're all expecting, as we've been told many times it's on the way.
First by the end of spring. Then it was pushed back to the end of Q2 (end of summer I 'spose)
I wonder (or really really *hope*!) if this means it's not going to be compulsory after all??

Is packlink involved in simple delivery

Latest news is simple delivery postponed til Q2 2025,maybe there will be a rethink but somehow i doubt it

'Is packlink involved in simple delivery'

Apparently not. From what I've heard that's probably a good thing!

Brilliant news
one down loads to go till they get it right

I hope not, can't understand why ebay worked directly with scammers...

Like attracts like
i always liked eBay warts and all
my first bugbear was charging fees on postage ..ie taking money that was nothing to do with them
then x y z ad nauseum
what I dislike now is the dishonesty
still they have a long way to go to beat Etsy who charge 30 plus percent on a sale
was gobsmacked this week there so will be closing my account
sold something for 17.999 incl postage I got I 11.79 and still had to buy my postage label of 3.39 lololol

Ebay will walk 'hand-in-hand' with anyone if they can help them do the impossible - satisfy their greed.
14-03-2025 10:50 PM
They can be greedy but less constipated
their website is so convoluted it’s unreal
they are trying to do too many things that most people don’t want
and what’s with the sending me offers left right and centre every day from people whose listings I’ve used for sell one like this
im SELLING ONE LIKE THIS i don’t want to buy another one dumbos
14-03-2025 10:52 PM
If everything ebay does is looked at through the lens of greed, it all makes perfect sense, in fact its the only explanation that works for the decisions they make.
14-03-2025 10:57 PM
Greed is the one thing entities like trump promote
theyve had their day that’s why they’re so rabid now trying to keep it all lololol not gonna work the world is going to change despite thrm
power won’t be in their hands for much longer
maybe eBay will go back to its roots

Yeah, this is genuinely infuriating when creating multiple listings.
Too many extra clicks, they all add up and it's becoming not worth the time.
They're really just trying to make everything as difficult as possible for private sellers. They know what they're doing. They want us to convert to business accounts out of "convenience" because it's better for them.

edwardian-dreams: "what’s with the sending me offers left right and centre every day from people whose listings I’ve used for sell one like this. im SELLING ONE LIKE THIS i don’t want to buy another one dumbos".
That is hilarious. Not much makes me laugh out loud, but I belly laughed for ages at that. It's such a farce that it beggars belief that all of these things are happening for real on a site like eBay. I would never have believed it possible for things to descend to such chaos. But here we are.
15-03-2025 12:41 AM
Unfortunately it didn't last and back to having to opt out every listing oh well
15-03-2025 6:58 AM
i will willingly opt out each time, not exactly tedious if it means i can still sell on here - because i will not be here if/when SD becomes mandatory.
15-03-2025 9:12 AM
Yes true - I hope they make a compromise and allow opt outs - if not they really need to implement some kind of combined postage

I had to edit and remove Simple Delivery on 12 separate ads yesterday. Hopefully I've only got 3 more to go, to stop this unsolicited silliness!!
