I’ve just revised a listing, and it says "Subtitle (optional) - £0.00”. Then when you click the Info button, the pop-up says: "Subtitles appear in our search results in the list view, and can increase buyer interest by providing more descriptive info. A listing upgrade fee of £0.00 applies whether or not your item sells”. I thought there was a fee for subtitles.

That is odd.
See my screenshot which shows I would have to pay £2. In fees for private sellers, a subtitle is still listed as an 'optional extra' for £2.

£2 showing for me also. Yet another glitch?

I've just realised - it's Freaky Friday! So probably a glitch. I've only got 4 items for sale, all currently with Custom postage, and all of them say £0.00.

You haven't won Ebay's Lottery. I just checked and I have £0.00 displayed too. On both custom and SD listings.
Have never used this field. Now I'm wondering what it's for?
Is it as a reward for spending too long on Ebay?

Well spotted! When I accidentally experienced a similar glitch, eBay insisted I pay the fees... even when I pointed out to CS that eBay advertised them as free of charge.

Ah, another potential Ebay 'Revenue Generator' or an enhancement masquerading as a system 'glitch'?
Wonder how long before Ebay claims all of the item price when something sells? 😉

Although it's stated as free at the mo I would seriously think about using the feature in case you are charged afterwards.
You will have a fight on your hands trying to retrieve the fee and will end up paying more in time and phone calls to Chat with a human 'bean' who will deny it was free.
There's others who are being charged to revise listings that are supposed to be free unless a special feature is added. Just saying!

Surely that must be unlawful, you would think.

It's a damning indictment on ebay that they can't be trusted to honour a published fee, or non-fee in the case of £0.00, as the experience of style_wise shows. I did wonder whether it was genuine when I first saw it, and this thread has convinced me that it's a glitch so I won't be trying it. I'm assuming that it's not a deliberate glitch to catch out the unwary but who knows.
