Has anyone had a failed RM collection & a 30p refund??

This happened to me last week & I ended up taking it to the PO instead. I know 30p isn't going to break the bank but out of principle I feel RM should be brought up on every failed delivery now they are charging (only for eBay parcels as still free via Parcel2Go etc)

Interested in other people's experience with this and how often it happens.

As of 27-7-25 I can still book Tracked 48 /24 with free pickup via eBay. Whilst using this service I have only had one failed collection.

How? Do you see 'RM Collection' in the choice of dispatch? Us mortals have to separately go to RM to book and pay for collection.

That said, I was lucky enough not to have SD inflicted on me till this month.

I had a sale and completed the 'simple delivery' process with the offered collection by Royal Mail and 'no printer no problem' RM would bring one. Collection was shown as free too...no way of paying 30p i was expecting whoopee. I saw the process showing collection from porch and RM providing label. I also booked a private parcel paying 30p to make RMs trip worthwhile...... Naturally today my own parcel collected and a label provided...the ebay parcel still sits here!  Returning to orders it showed as not despatched and i could only print off a label AND pay 30p by paypal for collection tomorrow. Contacting CS (ok ok) they said no late despatch registered and the parcel marked delivered!! Others are now looking into it and after an hour i gave up trying to explain the issue.

It seems that after booking the collection on e-Bay you still have to click the big blue button to open or download the label even though you don't need to do anything with it.  On clicking that I get a collection confirmation e-mail from RM instantly but not until I do.

Royal Mail charge 30p if booked through their own web-site but seem to have done a deal with brokers like Parcel2Go, e-Bay &c.
